Hopefully the team has already forgotten everything about yesterday's loss. It was ugly. It was brutal. However, Saturday is another day. JMU fans will be in Texas. This will feel like a neutral game. We are ok in those types of games. JMU is poorly coached. JMU will take advantage our turnovers if we let them. Limit turnovers and we will be fine here. We do need to start creating some kind of force down low and not give up so many easy lay ups. This appears to be one of the few opportunities for this team to steal a road victory. If they dont, not sure when one will come. JB shared our pitiful road record under Spiker. Hopefully giving up 89 to plodding Towson is a wake up call that defense needs to travel and show up. Going through the motions will get the team another L. Let's get the road split and get back to the DAC. I expect this game to stay close throughout, may even head into OT. Cam gets us buckets late while Matt Lewis costs JMU. There really is no reason to have any confidence in winning on the road, but I will go with my head not my heard

Nice 2nd half comeback though.
Coletrane should build confidence despite Towson's defense letting up.
Bickerstaff slowly gaining confidence.

it's a shame that our one national TV game was a disaster. Bad timing.
There will still be a nice home court advantage for JMU, and still more fans than Drexel gets for a typical home game. I'm sure that the entire fan base doesn't fly to Texas. The football game is at noon so there won't be any conflict.

I bet youd be surprised. They already have lack of attendance because they have been a disaster. Add to it the die hard fans are in Texas, I bet they have fewer than 1K to this game
I am surprised. And I noticed that they did not start a Drexel thread on their message boards. Looks to be about a typical Drexel DAC crowd at the Convo today.

I hope this is the last time that I have to look at the their giant puked on floor, and that they don't bring that disgusting thing over to the new arena.

I agree.

You led 12-4. JMU never led. They tied it at 22. With 15 seconds left, they tied it at 38. The half ended with a miss by Washington and offensive rebound and basket at the buzzer by Walton for a 40-38 lead. Matt Lewis was the only double-digit scorer with 10. Mate Okros led you with 9. He shot 3-5 with all the attempts being threes. Butler, Washington, and Juric scored 6; Green, Walton, and Bickerstaff scored 4; Perry scored 1; and Wynter was scoreless in 16 minutes. He shot 0-4 and did not attempt a free throw. He had 5 rebounds and led you with 3 assists. You shot free throws 1-2 with both attempts by Perry. Butler led you with 6 rebounds, so his pace of 12 points and 12 rebounds are close to his averages of 12.2 points and 11.7 rebounds. JMU made half of their threes, but shot twos horribly. Darius Banks shot 1-6 and scored 6 including 4 free throws. Michael Christmas, who is in his second consecutive game as a bench player, was second on JMU with 7 points. You committed only 1 more foul, but JMU had 10 more free throw attempts. The only players with more than 1 foul are Washington and Dwight Wilson with 2. Wilson averages 12.0 points and 11.0 rebounds but has only 2 points and 1 rebound in 6 minutes. After committing his second foul with 9:11 left, he sat for the rest of the half.

You were 3.5 point underdogs, and all four CAA games had the home team favored by 1.5 to 3.5.
Finally a road win. They couldn't go an ENTIRE calendar year without winning a road game, could they?

Dragons lead the entire game except for 2 times when JMU tied it up. It was a frustrating game because they had plenty of 7, 8, 9 point leads but could never pull away, and continued to play just poorly enough to let JMU keep it close.

Another great ending by Wynter to take charge of the game and score the last 9 points for Drexel in the final 1:09, the last 7 from the foul line.

Drexel isn't sorry to see the Dukes leave the Convo. It's been a house of horrors for Drexel. The Dragons haven't won there since 2/8/12 when they won 63-56 during the magical 19 game winning streak.
I definitely underestimated how bad JMU would be. Towson blowing out Sucks makes me feel better about that game too. Road performance is still a concern but I am breathing a bit more easily today. Now gotta take care of business against Elon before a rough stretch.
Elon got out of last by winning 80-63 hosting UNCW. Elon lost by 27 at Hofstra, but in their four games hosting William & Mary, at Northeastern, hosting Charleston, and hosting UNCW, Elon is 1-3 with a point differential of -1.

Attendance was 1,967, but there's no way to know how many were actually there. They did have cheerleaders, but the band wasn't there. I found myself singing JMU's awsome fight song after the buzzer sounded, since I'm so used to hearing it after the horn sounds at the Convo.
Listed sure. They certainly have many STH who dont show up but get counted. I didnt see any of it but from others, it didnt appear many were there at all, and definitely not what they listed. Wasnt always pretty but never trailing is impressive. Take that road win and keep finding way to improve. Cam hit a bunch of clutch FT's down the stretch.
Yeah guys, we have almost zero MBB fans at this point. I’m sure the football game in TX played into less butts in seats (writing this post on my way to DAL to fly home) but our actual attendance is pretty bad all the time. I tuned in at the very end to watch our guys make embarrassing mistake after embarrassing mistake (crucial missed FTs, passing the ball out of bounds on a fast break). Real tough to watch JMU MBB at this point.
And yes, that court is beyond horrific. Did you know they ran a Facebook contest to choose the design? When there wasn’t a clear winner, they just took elements from all the contender designs and mashed it all together. It is an abomination. No, it will not be in the new $120M women’s basketball arena.

That's even worse since you have a good marketable logo and found a way to make it awful

New $120M women's basketball arena?? LOL!!
Rough weekend for the Dukes as the women fell this afternoon to Towson.
I don't have anything against JMU when they're not playing us, but I grew up in ND and am a NDSU fan, so yesterday was a particularly good day for JMU fans to be suffering.
i don't like that they waited 2 weeks for the fcs title game. it seems like a moving target for when that game is going to be. bad enough they waited 2 weeks for fbs too.

Yup. Bad decisions are bad. Leadership by Facebook poll!

Championship used to be in December when it was in Chattanooga. Believe on a Friday night? Believe they changed the timing to one of the first two Saturdays in January when it moved to Frisco. I might be wrong on that.
