I just saw this posted on Instagram for any of you that are local Seahawk Club members, or members that want to catch a game.

That's student Seahawk Club.
Sorry. Took my melatonin a little early tonight.

Right. Like I was saying. If any of you students want free tickets...

When I was a student we were so bad, all you had to was show your student ID at the gate and you could sit or stand as close as you wanted for pretty much every game.

For how bad we are now can’t imagine it would be much different.

When I was a student we were really good. Still, all you had to do was bring your student ID and you were let in free and the entire side of bleachers was filled with students. There was none of that "getting a ticket in advance" thing. You showed up and there was a pile of tickets on the table. You showed your ID and they gave you one and you proceeded through the doors.

I know the Athletic Dept changed up a lot of things, especially where they were seating students, which leads to, IMO, some of the apathy from students that Mullet is referencing over on the other thread... even when we're successful as a team. They need to fix that. You shouldn't be limiting students to a small section of the bleachers and then when that is full throwing them upstairs. Takes away from the atmosphere and any excitement or motivation that a student would want to show up for. It was fun back in the early 00's because we'd back hundreds of students into those bleachers and the rowdy atmosphere was just fun. Let students be students. The problem, inevitably is cyclic, because when the program is suffering and ticket sales are down the dept has to try to come up with clever ways to make money. One of those things was their desire to sell more floor bleacher level tickets to make up for the loss of revenue because people stopped attending because the team sucked. We're entering that level of apathy again, and it's going to cause us long term problems in attendance if they don't find a better way to balance their need to make money with the need to keep people/students coming to the games.
