No way.
If Precious was on last years team... yep. He”s a special talent.
Right now, I would say no. But I could see this team struggling mightily in the road on conference. It’s not an outlandish question.

We are 40th in KenPom currently and finished last season at 56. Not a huge difference, at present.
Its hard not to compare this years team AT THIS POINT to last years team at the end of the season... we have the whole body of work to reflect on with last year, and we are only 1/3rd through this years body of work..

This years team is better at the 1/3rd point than last years team at the 1/3rd point
Last year's team lost 14 games and was saved by one player, Jeremiah Martin. Without him they would have had a losing season or .500 at best.

This team won't lose 14 games.
You mean that was a serious question? 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

Last years team had lost to College of Charleston and Oklahoma St by this point.
Nope. We were down 27-1 to USF last year.

It's a 29% improvement. It's the difference in being an NCAA team and an NIT team.

Defensively this team is 100% better...

If Martin is on this team we are ranked #1 in the country right now...(We wouldn't deserve it but we would be undefeated)

Agree. Do you envision any player on this roster as a senior having any degree of impact that JMart had last year?

Never know. His frosh year, when he averaged 3 points a game, did you envision JMart having the degree of impact he would have?

You have much different memories of last year than I do. We lost to College of Charleston last year. We got a double-OT win vs Yale at home. At this point last year, game #16, we had a halftime deficit with a come from behind win against ECU at home.

We had guys who couldn't figure their roles out (Kyvon, Parks, Tyler, Alo). Frustrating D (Brewton, Martin, Kyvon). Other than Martin, there was zero court leadership. Penny was very frustrated post game.

We had an older, more experienced team who never quit - a staple of Hardaway - with a player who took his game to a new level. But they were not better. Not close.
This years team is so much better than last years it not even close...

But at the same time last year we weren’t 56. Probably in the 70s.

Dude. How quickly we forget.

Absolutely!!
Anyone who's watched a game knows better. Achuiwa is the best player we had since Rose, probably top 10 already.

Last year at this time we were 11-6 with 6 more regular season losses to come.
