I hope it is not just a dream!
To me it's as simple as can we improve the explosiveness on offense. Defense and running game are going to be great. If we don't get more explosive on offense I don't think we can win at UCF and I think Memphis or a rejuvenated Houston can give us problems at home. I'll be pulling for Bryant or Prater to give us the added dimension on offense.
The road conference games have me the most concerned. We haven't won at Temple in a long time. UCF should be better with another year of Gabriel at QB or Milton if back. SMU has their QB back and should be good again. Tulsa was quite possibly the most dangerous 4 win team in the country (beat UCF, missed a chip shot FG that would've beat Memphis) and I look for them to take a big step next year. With the quality of the teams in our conference I believe it'll be a hard fought road to the conference championship.
Young and Wright will be tough to replace. Other than that we should be deep and talented on D

Need some guys at WR to step up and be dudes.

Watched the bowl game again and damned if 55 is not a stud...big and athletic and is technically really sound. Only play his guy got to the backfield he did his job and released him upfield on a screen to the deft side but Ridder didn’t throw the ball for some reason.

Wonder if we bring in another grad transfer kicker? Crossa for one year was a nice upgrade.
If we can keep the staff intact for another season [and beyond] that would be a first in a long time and a key to our continued success. So nice to not have to fret about the DEE Cord and Special Teams/GA positions...
I'll be curious to see if Fick and Freeman pull off any late recruiting/transfer coups. Now that they've settled in, i've been nothing but giddy about what they've done getting players.

Every time I keyed in on Hudson I saw a guy that played with aggression. Kept driving his man all the way to whistle (if not a second or two after). I know he's been with the program now for a while but it was really impressive to see him come in 'game ready' and play at a high level instantly but also without making mistakes. Our group also commented on how refreshing it was not to have the false start penalties which put us behind that sticks on so many drives this year.

We have... last season, but the refs were all posting on facebook and missed our game winning points sailing through the uprights, so the made us do a do-over.

If you want to see who is available in the transfer portal. I wouldn't be surprised if UC tries to add another O-Lineman.

Edit: As long as Harbaugh is coach @ Michigan-- I think UC should try to poach one of their players every year via the transfer portal.

Hudson is already extremely good. Saw him take out multiple defenders in the run game on multiple occasions. He’s big, athletic, and seemed to have a good kick step in pass pro. If he continues to play with an edge our OL should be much improved next season.

If Ridder can take the next step in the passing game then we will be extremely dangerous. Regardless, we should be right in the mix for the Conference championship. Have some tough road games in conference but hopefully we can take the American and get to a NY6 game.

So this is going to sound argumentative but I'm going to say it anyway. After 3 years and 25 starts he still hasn't taken the first step in developing as a passer. He's regressing and not just slightly. Even yesterday he played very well due to his legs but was under 4 yards an attempt; that's insanely bad. He's been under 100 yards in 3 of his last four games. Completion percentage has been awful since September. I'm not opposed to him starting but if he's our starting QB we need to be running more of a Navy run/pass balance. Read/options offense with 10-15 passes a game to keep the defense honest.

How about George Brown from Winton Woods, via Miami FL? I'm not going to act like I'm a scout or know anything about him but he's local, was a high 3* and is available.

Barring something unforeseen I don't see them getting a OL transfer. They are loaded in that room and are going to struggle to find enough snaps for the guys that are here--- we already have Hudson, Harper, Metz, McConnell (possibly playing guard) along with young guys like O'Quinn, Woodside, Jonathan Allen plus all the young guys they signed in this class. Add in the bevy of talent at guard-- we are good.

If they go with a transfer I would expect to it to be a receiver or a linebacker.
There are a lot of young guys with potential on the OL. Guys like Metz have to continue to develop and you still need to find a new RG to replace James. LG is still a big question mark if Cooper was the best answer there out of camp. Not to pick on him but he was in over his head before he went down with his injury.
Another Wolverine lineman wants out, Stephen Spanellis. Go get him!

I agree and have been one of the more vocal fans that I don’t believe Ridder can take us to the next level. Unfortunately, I think we are stuck with him for the foreseeable future and I do not think the coaching staff will make a change as long as we are winning 10-11 games, even if we are winning despite his poor play.

I just saw that Quincy Roche has entered the transfer portal. Just brutal for them. Guy will wind up at a top 10 program in order to get more exposure I'm sure.

Chad nailed it. Is it September yet? Imagine the possibilities...

Is it going too far to suggest that next year's Bearcat team will have the most talent--and depth of any, ever?

That's not to say they will be the best UC team ever, as much can happen in the ebb and flow of a long season. But there is so much reason for optimism.

And I think the B12 could use a team that knows how to beat P5 opponents in bowl games.

I think Deshawn Pace (Div 1 Defensive POY) is going to be a player in the defensive backfield. Maybe not right away, because he has some good guys in front of him, but eventually.
