My expectations for this program have tempered considerably. I feel like 4-8 is probably the low water mark and 7-5 is probably the ceiling. What remains to be seen is if any players opt to transfer, which I couldn't blame anyone for doing so.
2020 has 5-7 written all over it...many will be calling for Lester's head after the early season 5 game losing streak.

5-8 (hope I'm wrong)
Tough OOC schedule, especially breaking in a new QB. Likely 1-3 to start the season. The schedule is slightly more forgiving though, in that we get Syracuse, Toledo, EMU and NIU all at home.
Way too early to predict anything though. A lot can and will change. Attrition, grad transfers, injuries. We'll be replacing a lot of key players, but there's a lot of talented young players on the roster. I don't have much faith in the coaching staff though.
I have no idea what to expect at this point.

I see a 6 win and 6 loss season with a bowl miss as well. With a big fat 5 loss streak after a win against Colgate.
Poor decisions in close games and the inability to beat a favored opponent leads to another disappointing season.

If Lester would address the short passing game, and throw to his RB's periodically, I see a 9 win season. Lester and crew have recruited v-e-r-y well. WMU has the ability to "out-talent" many MAC teams, even with some questionable (and at times, flat-out-dumb) play calling.

It's way too early but like with most football teams we will probably go as our (new) QB goes.
Normally expect significant drop off from three-year starter to one who only played in five games two years ago.
Also bringing back only 12 starters normally not good. But we have four OL starters returning (good building blocks for that side of the ball). Easier to replace "skill" players than OL. And were getting Moment and Eskridge back on defense.
Hopefully we don't lose any key players between now and Spring Ball or Fall Camp.
