I’ll be there, but I’m working in the box.

Hard to support a bowl that dropped our league unless we are a fill in.

Haven't been back since the ECU / South Florida game for that reason.

Give me free tickets or have it include UAB. Only way I’m going back for it.

I went to support the CUSA representatives. After they dropped us, I dropped them.

These bowl games are usually mainly supported by corporate sponsors who then give their tickets to customers, employees or business contacts. Regular sales to walk up fans are an additional blessing, but can't be counted on for the bottom line. This could be an interesting year since neither team is a regional favorite. If a good turnout for such a match up comes about, it might do a lot to make the B'ham Bowl a credible event in building for the future.

Every damn year. I haven't been to this bowl since I moved to Birmingham, primarily because the weather is so awful. I was going to leave work early to make it over but the weather is flat out gross.

I do find it odd that they still think they need to have the bowl after the New Years Day bowls.
The old All American / Hall of Fame bowls were held around Christmas and always drew pretty good crowds.

The game is now in a prolonged weather delay. This is the risk that was accepted when the decision was made 20 years ago (and made permanent by the BJCC decision) to not build an enclosed multiuse facility. This is not a Legion Field problem but an open to the elements stadium problem. The only advantage to the BJCC stadium might be if they allow fans to leave to visit the area "watering holes" and return for the rest of the game.

I was in the box providing music yesterday amongst other duties. Cincy brought what I thought was great crowd considering distance, time of year and weather conditions. BC does not traditionally travel well. Other than setting up outside signage and other things for the Fan Zone, the box was warm and dry. Only issue I had was during the weather delay, all of the food seemed to mysteriously disappear.

I was going to blame Scudder, but he only left the PA room twice. He wasn’t gone long enough to eat that much. lol
I think it was the ESPN Camera crew.
