Some of the folks on there are a joke taking jabs at the other G5 conferences calling us the G4, etc etc. I chipped in and gave them my two cents. There’s one thing I hate more than anything and that is ignorance and stupid comments.

“ Reading some of the post on here it’s clear to point out that some of you folks are absolutely pathetic in your views and comments. Yes, I’m a Troy fan, and yes my team is in the SunBelt, so what say you? SunBelt has most bowl wins the past 5 years out of any conference by a long shot. Bottom line is you may have few teams that stand out year to year, just as any other conference, but it doesn’t change the fact that your still in the G5 with the Sunbelt, MAC, CUSA, MWC. I guess the SEC should have a conference of their own, right? Do y’all know how stupid that sounds. Get over it...we’re all in the same category. Stop being so delusional.”

You sure showed them!

That’s a little tongue and cheek, but honestly, who cares man. I always chuckle at threads on the AAC board. My favorite are the “xyz to the AAC”, followed by a couple of fans from XYZ team in there trying to convince these AAC posters why they’re a good fit for the AAC. This may come as a surprise, but they are NOT the athletic directors of the AAC, they are a bunch of rando fans.

We don’t have to prove **** to any of those clowns. They have zero say in the outcome of anything. Just win baby.
Lol..Glad you went over there making friends. Of course you are right. They are the top G5 but G5 they are.
The AAC is a Big XII expansion away from being the MAC....

While sort of true, that’ll also have massive implications on CUSA and the Sunbelt, who will most certainly be pillaged again.

But just like every conference before, addition by subtraction doesn’t keep you in the same place. Once Memphis and Cincinnati get that call, however the AAC adds will not fill those shoes. It just turns the AAC into CUSA of old. And it won’t be the best version of CUSA.
Post-modernism at it's finest. I can believe whatever facts I wish to believe exist. I don't get to vote on autonomy matters nor do I get an NY6 contract bowl nor do I get a share like the P5 but I'm P6 which is just like being P5 except for where it isn't.
Just laugh at them. Everyone else does. Especially the real power teams.
Their commissioner was just ranting about the grand unjustness on SMU's ranking. Just like C-USA, the AAC is playing a beauty pageant except the AAC has some solid teams. C-USA is wildly inconsistent and dreadful outside the top 3 or 4.

Just let the play on the field do the talking. stAte opens against Memphis next season and I expect us to win. We should just expand the playoff to reduce this style of politics a little.

this isn't Larry Porter's Memphis anymore...
Not hearing too much from the AAC commissioner about SMU anymore, they really tanked the last 3 weeks, looked horrible yesterday against FAU.

we got the Cotton and Liberty Bowls...he's done his job.
You lose the Cotton and APP will finish the highest ranked G5 school in the final poll

and they'll get what for that?

the AAC gets 4.5 million for making the Cotton Bowl and 2.35 million for making the Liberty Bowl...we get those checks either way, win or lose.
True. And when the Big 12 comes raiding your conference you'll be back filling from the ranks of teams nipping at your heals. You girls need to learn to play nice and quit pulling hair.
Good for you, and you can spend that money knowing until next season you were second to a Sunbelt school

when that happens we'll join Iowa State, Texas Tech, Baylor, WVU, etc in what's left of the B12

be sure to watch the Cotton Bowl and then tune in to watch our soon to be top-10 basketball program :-)

We return a P5 level QB in Bonner and will still have a great group of WRs. Blake Anderson has to be pissed after getting publicly rebuked by other universities for the mediocrity he has mostly achieved here. He wants a raise and to move on.

You guys are breaking in a new coach so idk if you can say that. See you at the Liberty Bowl.
