Quote:The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court (FISA) that approved FBI surveillance of former Trump campaign aide Carter Page is now investigating other applications it’s received from one of the agency's attorneys accused of making an inappropriate change to the Page application.

The review, which was announced in an order released Friday, hints at a comprehensive effort by the secretive court to reevaluate surveillance after the Justice Department inspector general's report found errors in the Page application process.

In the order, written on Dec. 5 and declassified Friday, the court requested that the executive branch identify "all other matters currently or previously before this Court" that involved FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith. The court also requested explanations of how the Justice Department and FBI are ensuring that Clinesmith’s submissions were accurate.

The order goes on to ask for information as to whether Clinesmith faces possible disciplinary action from the bar regarding the change he made in the application for surveillance on Page.

It was not immediately clear if the court would publicize the administration's responses once they are received.

The order comes after the Justice Department told the court earlier this year that its Page applications contained misstatements or omissions that mostly surrounded an altered email saying Page was a government source.

Clinesmith has since resigned from the FBI and is under criminal investigation over the change he made, though he has not yet been charged with a crime.

Those who undermined the FISA courts and the American people's tolerance of it have undermined the security of the United States. According to recent Democrat pronouncements, that makes them guilty of treason. They must lose their jobs, their pensions and perhaps their freedom.

The pressure on the 'fisa' court leadership must be ramping up but I wouldn't trust them to really make things right. If they were interested those judges would already have Comey and others by the short-hairs.

This judge is knee deep in the corruption and the seditious coup attempt. These judges at FISA are as guilty as the other Cabal coup members. I hope Durhams looks into these corrupt judges also, Including Chief justice Roberts.
This deep-state corruption -- totally ignored by the entrenched media, but now indisputably real -- is the principal reason why American voters (even those of us who absolutely detest him as a person) must vote to reelect Donald Trump in 2020.

If the Democrat wins, whichever of the remaining clowns, the efforts to root this corruption out of our system will yet again be buried. We cannot let that happen.

Until the Democrat party recognizes the ideological cancer that it has allowed to take hold in its midst, our nation is condemned to live with the orange idiocy as our form of political chemotherapy.
Why am I suspicious? They have known for a long time now that the court got bent over. Nunes, Solomon, Carter and others have had the goods on it for a while. Why now start an investigation into ‘other’ filings? Do I smell a rat here? Is this just to proclaim in the end that the surveillance of Trump was no big deal? That it happened all the time to other innocent people? I think the focus should be on the important at the moment. Clean up the mess later and don’t let them distract us now from the point of it all.

You have good grounds to be suspicious. This could very well turn out to be a redo of the Obama "investigation" into Goldman Sachs and the rest of the Wall Street cabal for its culpability in the 2008 mortgage syndication mess.

What came from that was a shutdown of the existing Bush administration investigations, financial settlements in which the actual wrongdoers got off scot free, and unleashing Sen. Warren to institute her CFPB regulatory regime that pretty much put the innocent smaller community banks out of business.
I blame CJ Roberts for this. This happened on his watch. Instead of preparing retorts to Trump about how its nonsense that there arent left-wing judges, you need to investigate your own judges in the FISA court. Keep in mind, CJ, that one of the FISA judges was removed from the Flynn case because he met Strojk and Page at a dinner party to discuss how they were going to manhandle Flynn. So you can shove your little comment up your ass.

I have to disagree with that last statement....it was mostly the large scale 'creative ponzi by design' mortgage lenders that deservedly got their arse handed to them...e.g. Countrywide, Fannie Mae, etc...

while there were a few small lenders that got caught up in the fray, the responsible lenders are still in business and growing to this day....

pardon the pun, but a 'prime' example is how the 'burg with a surrounding population of ~110k continues to have a variety of options from corporate to small lenders simply b/c they didn't succumb and understood how it would play out long term...I can't name one responsible lender that went out of business in my hometown....

it's akin to being a hedge player by laying on the don't pass in combination with investing long on the numbers up top at the crap's table

other than not tossing 20 bucks at bitcoin 20 yrs. ago, my biggest financial misstep/regret was not shorting overvalued CDOs.....

a couple of yrs. after getting married, I built a house during the time period leading up to the collapse w/o having to pay PMI on a 200k 15 yr. loan....after doing the due going into the planning, I was dumbfounded at the options that were available at that time...I never gave any of that bs consideration from a long perspective....the sadist in me should've figured out the short side in foreshadowing.....

however, playing the short game can be a dangerous one if one doesn't have monster capital and liquidity.....that was a trigger I was unwilling to pull.....no differently than any small time responsible lender would've as well....

I once enjoyed the elevated heart beat of gambling with disposable income from booking bets in college, to the golf course/pool table/darts/card table/etc to the allure of craps.....however, when it came to investing in family and business??? pragmatics and conservative fundamentals was the only viable option....the ones that played the long version within tested fundamentals are smiling in spades today...

those are the folk that wake up and and thank #henceDJT every single fk'n day....

the USD will always carry value until one wakes up and thinks tulips is best method.....

vote for a democrat again moving forward.....the masses will once again get a real time history lesson from the 'Dutch'....
