Meh........It wasn’t completely bad but wasn’t in any way good. Just a lot of scenes meshed up together to make it seem like a joyride

Thanks Disney and JJ Abrams. Your failure is complete. Good riddance I guess
I thought Abrams cleaned up the mess Rian Johnson made with The Last Jedi.

I liked it, it paid homage to the originals. Several moments brought me back to my childhood and thats what Star Wars is to me.

The only thing I got emotional about was bring up the x-wing. I know Billy Dee Williams is old but they have used him more. I just hate the dropping things right in front of the audience with no explanation whatsoever and I guess that’s their way of cleaning up The Last Jedi and The Force Awakening
It's not as bad as TLJ, so it did beat my expectations. For better or worse, they closed the Skywalker saga. This whole new trilogy of Star Wars movies have been nothing but a big bag of meh. At least SW fans have the Mandalorian and an upcoming new season of Clone Wars on Disney+.
I havent seen it yet because I refuse to go to the theatre for another Star Wars movie in this trilogy after TLJ. This will be the first Star Wars movie ever made that I didnt go to see.

I dont blame JJ Abrams at all. I liked TFA just fine and thought it was a nice start to the series. Bringing in that SJW who cared more about a political message than an entertaining movie ruined it. JJ didnt have much to work with to try and close it out.

You should go see it if you liked The Force Awakens

Abrams basically gave a big FU to Johnson and made the movie where The Last Jedi didnt really play much into this movie at all.

Anything is better than The Last Jedi so it’s not saying much

The last movie was unentertaining and a huge disappointment to me and I vowed to wait to see the new movie until reviews support the relatively hefty expense.

Previously, I went to every Star Wars movie on the same weekend of its release without hesitation.

That’s about right
I actually enjoyed it and it brought tears to my eyes several times.

If you go in with the mindset of picking it apart, you'll be disappointed. If you don't hyper analyze it, I think you'll enjoy it. It was a fine movie. I believe that most Star Wars nerds get so worked up about every little detail, they are doomed to be let down.
I haven't seen any of the new Star Wars movies.
Any movie not written by Lucas doesn't appeal to me, as its someone else's interpretation.
Those don't always live up to the original.

I hear what you are saying but after Return of the Jedi and the following 3 prequels, I dont trust Lucas either. As far as I am concerned, things went downhill with the introduction of the Ewoks.

The uniqueness of Star Wars franchise was its meshing of the ‘kiddie’ fans along with base of adults love for it too, especially the darker side of the SW universe. The original series mixed them up pretty well; it was the prequels where Lucas went full throttle kiddie probably by intent for marketing purposes and the casting was all wrong saved for Ewin McGregor as Obi Wan. Disney pretty much blew up everything
Why did they make Luke such a big loser and cry baby in The Last Jedi? He runs off to some mountain where he doesn’t want to fight. The whole time I was like... get your ass off that mountain and go help them fight.
Finally got around to seeing it. It wasn't fantastic, it wasn't awful, it was just OK. Also left a ton of unanswered questions and open ended possibilities for "the last Star Wars".

Glad I went, will probably watch it again on TBS but won't go out of my way to make sure i'm in front of the TV.

Because the SJW director wanted to destroy any male hero and replace them with female heros. According to what I have read his plan was to make Leia the Last Jedi.

Wow. That sucks.
We have planet killers, an emperor, a bad guy who wants to be good, an indecisive hero and bunch of funky looking aliens all fighting storm troopers. Same tired story with characters that tend to over or under act (one that grits her teeth a lot, one that had terrible timing on his lines). It was watchable but been there done that and better.
