How do you like that comparison?

For those just tuning in - Tarleton State may a relatively late announcement about their D2 to FCS move, leaving behind the Lone Star Conference for Division I Independent status.

FBSchedules is on the case with an announcement about their scheduling..

They still have a ways to go with 2020; it's nice that they were able to get Murray State, South Dakota State and fellow rising member Dixie State.

Any word from T-State folks if they have some other pending deals in the works?

Still, to have four home games right now definitely allows for flexibility with scheduling

09/12 - at Murray State
10/17 - Texas A&M-Kingsville
10/31 - Western Oregon
11/07 - Western New Mexico
11/14 - at South Dakota State
11/28 - Dixie State

Totally different scenarios. Tarleton State is joining FCS Indy football because they have no other conference options. UConn left their football conference to join a basketball only conference. TSU did it to jump to D1.

I am talking more about the "mad dash" to complete a schedule.

The reasons why the "mad dash" was created is different, but the fact they are in a "mad dash" to fill schedules when many schools are completed, deep in the process are not so different. UConn did have some more time...
Dixie State went through that last year

When did they become Tarleton St. again? Thought the Aggies took away all those good names.

Dixie State had a "longer runway" to get the games; they did a great job too

Never lost the name. Tarleton State was protected around the same time Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Sul Ross were.

It is significantly different from, and not as difficult as, UConn's scheduling for 2020. That's because FBS teams usually schedule farther out in advance than FCS teams, and also, Tarleton is transitioning to FCS, not playing a full FCS schedule in 2020, thus there are some Division II teams (Texas A&M-Kingsville, Western Oregon, Western New Mexico) on Tarleton's schedule.
Tarleton CSNBBS thread repointing this as their schedule. Not bad!
