Wish him well, just not enough PT in the rotation for him.

I understand. Ryan wasn't gonna get too much PT this year and probably next year too. Hope he lands at a good school. Good luck Ryan.

Not long ago, Ryan would have been our star shooting guard.
I’ll root for him wherever he lands.
He doesn’t have to sit out a year since he’s a walk on, correct?

With our guard play being so poor so for this year there should be some PT for him.

Does this mean that Green is a go?

Not a great decision to come from day one. Imo all of these local three and four stars are not going to keep coming here just to sit on the bench behind 4 and 5 stars from out of town.

wtf?
Lomax has been incredible, Boogie has had a couple of really good games, LQ is hurt, Tyler is an undersized volume shooter who has had some hot streaks. 3/5 in the guard rotation have a combined 22 games of college experience. The other 2 are soph's.

Hope he finds a decent place to go to. Just one of those fortunate/unfortunate situations.

I guess it doesn't matter if he transfers mid year since he already used his red shirt.
I guess he cant use the pushed out rule since he is not on scholarship anyway.
I hate it for the kid because it is going to be 2.5 years before he hits the court for meaningful minutes and he could have been playing and on scholarship @ UAB from day 1

It would seem that way. If Jalen Green and Greg Brown commit and we lose what we think we are, Boyce would not be able to be on scholarship next year I believe.

Thats a big assumptions...
Could be the kid just wants to play.

Hope he finds a good place to land. Sitting a year, then practicing against this group has probably been good for his development. I think he will be able to shine somewhere.

No doubt, he is a talented player. I hope he winds up back at UAB

Not sure it has anything to do with Green.. we were always going to sign at least two players

By transferring now he'll be eligible to play by second semester next year.
He could however get a waiver to play all next year since he has played in only a couple of games, a la David Wingett last season.
