Just a look at some of the bowl opponents of CUSA and the MAC

Marshall is playing UCF
La Tech is playing Miami
FAU is playing SMU

CMU plays SDSU
EMU is playing Pitt

Meanwhile App gets the CUSA runner up and UL gets an 8-5 G5 team. We've done fine in bowls so far but we really need to come out and make a strong statement to help us get better bowl tie-ins befitting the #3 G5 conference and not the pre-2013 Sun Belt.
You also should be looking to your new conference commissioner to see what moves he's making after this bowl season. It will tell a lot about what kind of administrator and conference proponent he really is. Time for him to earn his stripes.

Yeah and our coach is leaving for Mizzou and y’all get liberty what a smack in the face for this whole joke of a conference.

How is this conference a joke? We're in the last year of bowl contracts that were signed 5 years ago. Next year whoever the champ will be is going to have a more quality bowl because the direction the conference has taken in that time.

App's guys going to have their hand's full against a team wanting their 10th win and probably biggest win in school history.
Just win

App fans ticked off, but I can't blame them.

You know losing your coach is on you guys not the conference.

Your optimism is commendable, but I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch if I were you. Everything about college bowl games is political. There's lot of funny business involved in every aspect of bowl negotiations.

It’s a joke . We just put together the best season ever by anyone in the sunbelt and all we heard was crickets from our conference and our AD. Sad. UAB may be a great team But 12-1 deserves respect.
You know, App fans are making it really easy for me to wish them well in whatever endeavor they seek outside of this conference. You folks wanted in FBS. The Belt made a home for you and you've excelled. Now so many of the fans want to do is crap all over the folks who opened the door. It's not the conference's fault that the football hierarchy sucks. The Sun Belt didn't make it that way. It's just how it is. There are a lot of fans and teams that were fighting that situation long before you got here.

From the Charlotte Observer:

“ In fact, the Mountaineers were the only Group of Five team in the CFP top 25 that did not land a bowl berth against a Power Five conference opponent. Boise State, ranked 19th, will face the Pac 12’s Washington in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 21. Cincinnati, ranked 21st, was named to the Birmingham Bowl, where the Bearcars will face the ACC’s Boston College on Jan. 2. And 23rd-ranked Navy will face the Big 12’s Kansas State on Dec. 31 in the Liberty Bowl.”
The only part of this that makes the App fans look bad is, there was never any real chance they were going to another bowl once the conference only had 5 team eligible. they were told as much on friday by the commissioner. YES that sucks but you did know this already. throwing everything that's attached to the conference under the bus comes off bad.

If ULM had a kicker App is probably in Charlotte. It was that close
They're all winnable. I don't know anything about Wyoming, but State was going to struggle based on losing their tremendous QB regardless of opponent.

There was a lot of back stage pushing from ESPN and our athletics . This one lies on the dip stick we have at the helm in the conference.

It has nothing to do with Keith Gill. It has everything to do with the bowl games. NOLA is not ESPN owned and has the right to say "Hey, we're keeping App, they can't go anywhere, sorry. And contractually you end up in NOLA, and there is nothing ESPN, the SBC, or App State can do about it.
He's not wrong. This comes down to $$$. NOLA said they were keeping their golden goose and the rest was just words, I'm sure. Now push Gill for better bowl tie ins next year.

I'll take your word for it, but to me it doesn't seem like it would be a smart business decision to forgo taking the Cajuns after their best season in forever to take a team that was in NO last season. Would App really buy more tickets or do they think just having a ranked team will somehow help them?

On top of App not getting a P5 bowl, GS ends up on a bowl you can't watch on TV unless you have a super double platinum cable TV package and Georgia State ends up going across the country to a bowl few of their fans will be able to go to.

I'm just glad we're getting out ot these **** bowl agreements. We're not the worst league in the FBS anymore and we should have better.

Contracts are broken all the time . For La Tech to get Miami is just Bad .

Thank you for being a voice of reason here for the mountaineer fans.
