Won another Sun Belt title today. Beat both UNC and USC this year. Wonderful program. After today, a few App fans I know around here want to get out of the Sun Belt. I'd love to see them in C-USA or in a reconstituted regional conference with ODU. Another program I am jealous of!

They are bigger than CUSA. They would own this conference in football day in and day out. Some on this board don't think they are a better program than us and can't handle the truth. They destroyed us the last time we played them and I can only hope we could achieve their level of football success. I don't think we want any more of App St. They play big boy football.
Can't believe they don't get a shot at a better bowl game against a decent P5. It seems as bad as the old BCS system. Each year a G5 gets left out of the party.

I don't think there is any doubt that they are better at football for now. But I do think these things go in cycles, and there is no reason ODU cant be competitive and beat App St in the future. Just like theres no reason why App St cant beat us in basketball in the future. Would we typically win 3 out of 4 in hoops? Sure. Would they win 3 out of 4 in football? Likely. But certainly them, and UCF are what ODU should aspire to be in football. If Navy went independent, App could get a football only invite to the AAC. Id love to see App St vs. FAU. Sadly, I think App crushes UAB.

Thats why G5 sucks. We'd be better off just admitting the P5 has taken their ball and gone home, and starting a real G5 playoff consisting of "bowls" in the early rounds. Its ridiculous. #20 App St gets the 2nd place CUSA team in the Toilet Bowl, while #24 UVA goes to the freaking Orange Bowl. Its truly an outrage.
UAB is not very good so I bet they are very disappointed in the bowl game. These certainly go in cycles, but I would love of us to be as good as App State in football but have a good basketball team as well. They would love to have our basketball program.
