I was 50/50 on Zohn or Huff. I went with Huff just because I felt maybe it's time to go as new/fresh as possible with still some local ties. But I would be happy with Beamer, Zohn, or Huff. I just think Beamer would be a pit stop here and would bounce really quick. But... Beamer has a lot of positives.

Fair points. But what would be bad about the pit stop? That means he was successful here.

If we could become one of those programs where coaches win a bunch quick and bounce, I'd be fine with that since it means we're consistently winning.

That's true. I also think Beamer has a great story line to go with it. Start a new legacy like dad on the other side of the state? They could create a VA Legacy, quite literally. But, having grown up the way he did I just don't believe that ODU would be where he had his sights set. That's me suggesting something I know absolutely nothing about. Never talked to the man and have no clue. He could totally want to come here and be the next 20 year head coach and elevate us to the ACC. =]
I feel the Beamer rumors are smoke and mirrors to hide the real search.
A month or so ago he was interested in the job. That's fact. Whether that's still the case, I dunno.

Same, I would much rather have coaches leave because they are being hired away after being successful than have to fire them for failing or having them be just barely good enough to keep the job year after year but never really doing much.
Wow Beamer is running one hell of an election.

It's the Russians I tell ya! We need a full investigation! 07-coffee3
Harrell looks to be in a tug-of-war between Texas and USC. I think we can cross him off the list.
Ricky Rahne is a name that is heating up

It may not have been a long tenure, but we thank him for his service as ODU football coach.

I guess it's just schools not named USC that hate their OC
Waddya mean Rahne wasn't on the poll?

I think Rahne is better than anyone on that list except maybe Graham Harrell who would have never come here any way. I understand Beamer was not a top choice because he has never had any coordinator or head coaching experience. Could be more to it, but I don't know for sure.
