Believe he was a tweener coach for Ole Miss at the outset to get through the NCAA sanctions anyway. I liked the guy though and wish he had done better and held on especially since he stepped into a handcuffed situation from the start for his alma mater at a bad time.

Yeah, I always got the sense that he was a bit of a fall guy for them. Did some of the leg work on the rebuild and he was an Ole Miss guy so he kept the fan base engaged. My guess was with a 6-6 year he'd have kept his job, but in many ways he was doomed there.
