Outside of the single NY6 berth shared by all G5 conferences here is the AAC bowl lineup for 2019

2019 Season
BBVA Compass Bowl, Birmingham, Ala. – vs. SEC (will be a 6-6 or 7-5 team, like UT)
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg, Fla. – vs. Conference USA
Miami Beach Bowl, Miami, Fla. – vs. Sun Belt
Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman, Annapolis, Md. – vs. ACC (I think this is the 4th or 5th ACC team selected - not real sure)
Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, Honolulu, Hawaii – vs. Mountain West
Boca Raton Bowl, Boca Raton, Fla. – vs. MAC
R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, New Orleans, La. – vs. Conference USA

That's it folks. It's either nick the NY6 slot or play in a third / fourth tier bowl. Even if we do have two 11-2 teams if Cincy wins the rematch....

Did the Liberty Bowl pick us a few years ago because the SEC could not provide an 8th or 9th bowl team?
There are a couple secondary slots. Independence is one I think.
Here's 2020-2025

Looks pretty putrid. The AAC champion (or 2nd place team if champion fills NY6 slot) should have a good bowl to go to.

This lineup is pretty much garbage.

Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl (Tampa, Florida)
SERVPRO First Responder Bowl (Dallas, Texas)
Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl (Boca Raton, Florida)

2014-2019:
"In addition to the conference’s primary bowl affiliations, The American holds secondary partnerships with the AutoZone Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn., the AdvoCare V100 Bowl in Shreveport, La., and the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego."

playing an ACC team at Navy's stadium on ESPN sounds pretty cool.
If Cincy wins Saturday (or even loses) I'd expect to see them play App State from the Sun Belt in the Miami Beach Bowl?
UCF projected to Independence Bowl.

So the AAC's 11-2 conference champion playing a 7-5 ACC school is good?

losers don't get to b***h.
Yep, I’ve been very critical of Aresco’s ability to secure bowl contracts. The one saving grace may end up being the ESPN bowl pool. The AAC did not announce a hard line up for 2020-2025 and could have at least one more P5 matchup guaranteed, but not announced (something I heard on a podcast so not sure of credibility).
Cincinnati and SMU with projections for the Liberty, as well. I’d assume if we lost someone good would want us besides these **** bowls.

How is an 11-2 AAC league champion a loser?

it could happen with the Cure Bowl as it's AAC vs SBC.

I also think BYU is getting the Hawai'i Bowl this season so that would be cool too. rematch with BYU and fun trip/reward for the kids/coaches

No, Sun Belt champ contractually goes to NOLA vs. CUSA.

Gotta hope so but tie-ins are tie-ins. If a P5 can provide a 6-6 team to fill a bowl slot they can't throw them out even for an 11-2 Memphis or Cincinnati team I don't think.....
Just win baby.
There's only so much Aresco can do.

P5 don't want G5 bowl opponents.

Las Vegas Bowl was a glorious Pac-12 v. MWC game for decades. Now that they're moving into a new NFL stadium next year, it will be a Pac-12 v. SEC affair.

It's the Way of the World.

And there ain't a whole lot any of us can do about it.

If the AAC gets the Access, Liberty or Indy, the Cure will be shorted. It will most likely be SBC vs. Liberty.
