[/Duke, Creighton, Memphis, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Utah, West Virginia and Wichita State.

That was a good tourney for CUSA to be in

It has been one team from each conference and next year the
AAC gets 2 teams and CUSA gets left out.

Of course what did usm do lose all their games this year.
This conference just keeps spiraling down

We played the #2 team in the country in Louisville yesterday and where
Did you have to watch it. On Facebook. Thank You Commish. Nice tv package.

We are becoming a nice division 2 conference
With the exception of WKU (beat #5 Purdue and SMU), none of the CUSA teams that have played in this tournament has played well. UAB and Charlotte was the only other schools to play one game in the tournament that they didn't lose by double digits.

ODU came very close to beating Louisville in the opener and beat St. John’s in the seventh place game, but point taken

Who was it that used to say that going from CUSA to AAC is “a lateral move”?? Step forward and take a bow, genius!

Missed the ODU win.
bottom line is we suck and made another 'it's our guy' hire....

we hired a local legend's son to corch our team that couldn't win at SELA....

after '12, I didn't think we could muck the works that way again....wrong again...

from our local board...

to date....

losses to three pretty good teams by 28, 25, and 25...

bad loss to a school nobody's heard of by 3 on the road...another to a non basketball sun belt entity by 6...

2 home wins over division II and naia schools...

gonna be a long year fellers....

==================

tack on another double digit loss to a bama team that isn't very good....

==================

It's gonna be very disappointing if it is exposed that Doc is a better coach than Jay. Bama was a winnable game and it wasn't close. We can't defend the perimeter.

==================

it's that, too many stupid fouls b/c we're slow and inexperienced, and way too many turnovers...

this is a sloppy team...

I did. I didn't expect our conference commissioner to be this bad.

But, really should I have been complaining about the new conference members like some people instead? Instead I was hopeful about what the conference could be.

That being said, conference USA still had a better BCS average than the AAC during the first year. The conference has just been getting worse ever since then.
Eageleyed, credit to you for speaking up. But the one I’m thinking of was on this forum back in 2012-13-14.
Damn, Southern Miss. played so poorly they stopped inviting CUSA to the tournament.
Maybe they should go to the Belt.
Someone somewhere said Memphis was a late add. I wonder if there was a CUSA team lined up in their slot and they backed out? Or CUSA couldn't find a suitable entry that was eligible (as in a team that hadn't played in the previous four tournaments) and Memphis got the call?

I hope it's a one-year hiccup and not a sign of things to come, but I could also see Atlantis doing to CUSA what Maui did to Chaminade and only let them play in the big-boy tournament every other year.

In the 2013 version UTEP beat Tennessee, got clobbered by Iowa and then lost a nail bighter to #2 Kansas.

That’s the top half of the league as of today, chances are the tier 1 and first round byes all come from that group.
188,196,202,213,233,237 next six
...
250 Southern Miss (as in “miss” the conference tournament).
I guess that was your original point.
But if you think we were planning to hang around and hold your hand in the conference cellar then you haven’t been paying attention.

I won't 'whine and dine' about our situation....I simply prefer laughter at this point...

Any explanation? Since we have a permanent agreement with the Battle for Atlantis, this reeks of Judy.

Maybe. I’m not here to defend her lethargic/non-existent “leadership”.

But let’s suppose, purely for the sake of argument, that Atlantis told us they wanted to see other people. What leverage does CUSA bring to that discussion? Spoiler: Absolutely None Whatsoever. That doesn’t change even if Judy disappears in a puff of smoke.
