Obviously that needs to improve. But, he is currently carrying this team on his shoulders.
He has a solid game except for that. We just need to get a point guard and let him concentrate on scoring. That stat is totally unacceptable for a point guard.
He averages 4.7 a game. Is that really that bad considering he has the ball in his hands 90 percent of the time on each possession?
As a raw number, maybe not, but it is in comparison with assists he is creating. Obviously, too much is on him, or at least he feels that way. Trying to do too much. A lot of good things happening, but also some bad things.

The problem is that this could be a pretty good basketball TEAM. Right now we are very shorthanded and Nowell is understandably just trying to plug the holes and carry on. But when everyone gets back healthy and eligible, if MN gets in a habit of trying to do everything himself, it may not be so easy to change gears. And then there is always the fact that when other teams learn that if you stop MN you stop the Trojans, it becomes a lot easier to do.
Right now we lead the SBC in turnovers per game (16.8). Second place is 15.0.
We are 11th in turnover margin. (Only Monroe is worse.)

You always shoot 0% on turnovers.
Go back to 2015-2016 and Hagins averaged 1.7 turnovers and Johnson averaged 1.3 turnovers a game. So 4 a game is probably a bit much.
I will never forget Zack Graber's answer to the people that wanted him to score more: "My teams have won everywhere I have been."
