So I’m a huge fan of having football outside of the fall. There are plenty of sports fans that either exclusively ( or nearly so) follow football so here’s ideas for leagues, I’ll call them both the Alumni Football League

Option 1: 8-12 teams who operate within the market of and potentially in the stadium of the biggest college football brands. A fair percentage of each roster would comprise of former players from the host school while the rest could be from anywhere (think of the Canadian player rules in CFL)

Option 2: This would be a barnstorming league where all teams practice out of the same location. Players would be allocated by the conference affiliation of the school they played for: a Wisconsin grad would play for the Big Ten team and their home games might be scattered across Lincoln, Ann Arbor, Columbus, State College, and Madison.

Thoughts?
Best workable idea is that teams play two division one exhibition games in the spring. Basically these will mostly be buy games for the power 5 but i could see occasional high profile exhibition coming along if the money is there.
Alumni summer basketball leagues would be a natural for the conference networks.

That's probably the best reason to do it.

You could start small(ish) with an 8 team tournament in Chicago or Atlanta or Charlotte, and see if there's enough support to grow it to a full summer league.
I think the best thing that can happen is that the NFL starts a true Farm League just like the MLB has, but play it in the spring.
Summer basketball would be cool too. TBT has a lot of success and most of those are alumni teams.
