WTF... look at the field for this tournament next year... are you kidding me

Speaking of next year, do we know where we will be yet?

I thought I saw Myrtle Beach on here but they just announced their field and we aren't a part of it. Charlotte is.

From what some have said, it looks like we will be replacing the holiday tournament with a mixture of buy games and possibly a 2 for 1 with UVa. That way we can guarantee better games for our NET.

Ugh, the last time we did that is the season we don't talk about...

Also the recent interviews with Jones seem that UVA isn't all that likely.

Honestly, it's a better field than this year, which suffered from Wisconsin withdrawing and everyone underperforming, but it's not THAT great. Kansas State is the best team, I presume, but they'll lose their two best players at minimum. Ole Miss is a mid-pack SEC team that might be better next season if their three four-star prospects pan out, but that's always an uncertain bet. Miami isn't exactly a power. Oregon State is usually one of the worst major-college programs. WKU is WKU. Northern Iowa is obviously tough but decidedly unsexy. LaSalle is a lot closer to Drexel than Villanova. And who knows how Nevada will evolve in the post-Musselman era? Better than this season but I think Goodman oversells it a bit.

I hope not. The problem isn't with the holiday tournaments, it's that everything hinges on that first game. But unless you snag an invite to Atlantis or Maui, that's always going to be the case. Win and you get two good to great opponents, lose and you get garbage and crap. I think I'd rather that than selling out to be a bodybag for someone else. Even most CUSA teams fit an exempt tournament between their games against vo-tech institutes, beauty academies and non-accredited Bible schools.

I only mentioned it because it came up in interviews this week following Jones' 500th win.

Last time we won the opening round of a MTT was the 2014 Paradise Jam which was promptly followed by 19 point loss to Ill. State. Only have won 3 in the last decade.

MGMs Main Event. Looks like they make the mid-majors play each other in Vegas while the highs play against each other. The only games between mids and highs, are one game for each team where the highs each hosts one of the mids at their arena. Not great.
Great Alaska Shootout?
Thought there was a cap on number of these tourneys a team could play in without taking a year off?
I'm still holding out hope that we get into the tournament at Disney World...

You can play an exempt tournament every season (except the Ivy League made it's own rule saying every other)

There is a rule that you can't play in the same tournament more than once every five years.

We lose to Mason and it's probably gonna be a long year, imo.
Before the season started, I thought our strongest asset on this team was going to be Dickens, Ezipke & Reece. So far I am totally disappointed. Especially with Kalu. He isn't playing with the intensity level he needs to. Doing a lot of smiling/laughing and probably getting into JJ's doghouse. Dickens needs to "man up"!! He is getting pushed around by smaller opponents and playing very passive. Reece??? Never have seen what some of you in here have indicated about Joe Reece. Now that he is getting some PT I see absolutely nothing from him. Rest of team is playing as expected, not better but not worse. We are gonna live or die with our "big men". If they don't step up neither will the team.
Why would you think our strongest asset would be those 3?
