"RUSTON – The race for the Western Division crown is heating up in the final stretch of the regular season and Saturday’s showdown between Conference USA divisional rivals Louisiana Tech (7-1, 4-0) and North Texas (4-5, 3-2) will play a big role.

With a win over the Mean Green, Tech could further supplant its leading position in the West as it would earn another tiebreaker against a squad that’s still in the running for the top spot. A victory for North Texas would hand the Bulldogs their first conference loss and make the scene much tighter for the division race.

UNT will enter Joe Aillet Stadium will a great sense of urgency as it needs wins in two of its final three regular season games to reach bowl eligibility, something Louisiana Tech achieved three weeks ago with its 45-30 win over Southern Miss." - Cory Diaz, Monroe TNS

After the bye week, I'm ready to see the Bulldogs take the field again. Can Amik Robertson and the Tech Defense slow down Mason Fine and company enough to come out on top? I think so, but we'll find out in a few short hours.
North Texas will probably not win today. Our offensive line can't protect Mason Fine, and our defensive line won't get to JaMar Smith. Unfortunately, that is probably a summary for how this plays out. Our DC can't get fired quick enough.

On a happier note, if RB Tre Siggers is healthy (he probably isn't 100%), he may be able to keep us from getting blown out. That guy is a beast.

I hope I'm wrong, but my prediction...

North Texas 17
LA Tech 45
Let's go UNT!!!!!
I think this will be a closer game than most Tech fans want. Sadly it's too bad the LSU Bama game is at the same time and the impact this will have on attendance for us...

Go Dawgs!
Hope UNT will just be green without mean today!

I would be surprised if we win by that much. I'm expecting a close game. I hope Tech is up to the challenge.
All right UNT fans y'all need to be hitting I-20 soon. See you in Ruston in a few hours.

Not to bad I guess. We bring way more fans to Denton but we also have tons of alumni living in the DFW area.

I was going to travel to this game, but our poor season changed my mind. I'll be watching it on facebook. Hopefully I'll be making the trip in two seasons.
These refs are terrible. Two catches that the refs missed.

Relatively sloppy from everyone involved so far.
Tech gets a FG. 10-3 'dogs.
Fine on the pine. Is he hurt, UNT fans?

Yes, but I would not be surprised if he returned.

If Smith was playing better, LA Tech would be up by quite a few points.
