FSU plays Pitt tonight. FSU will try to avenge last year’s loss. Matchups of interest will be FSU’s Trent Forrest and MJ Walker (both elite defenders) on Pitt’s guards. This will be a difficult first game for FSU, I’m expecting the new faces on the team to struggle to find their role early in the season.
Random thoughts:

St. John’s looks dangerous. Lots of talent and that fast paced Nolan Richardson approach.

Cincinnati is way better off, I can tell in the first few minutes. I like Brannen a lot and I was surprised it took a while for him to get a major gig. I’ll be pulling for them.

I miss Kabengele. He was prob my favorite ACC player this past decade.

Pitt’s court and uniforms looks great. I mean, they aren’t these: [Image: b8f157a0edfb4b2f9facf9048556b9a3_front.jpg] But they’re good.

I forgot how much I love sports in November and December! 04-cheers

ACC Office: please don’t schedule league games in November next season, thanks. Playing ND in November feels like a marquee season opener and not a conference game.

I wonder if this was just to launch the ACCN or if we're going to be having Nov. League games from now on.

Since VT won it's ok this time, but had we lost and were looking at a 12/6 home game against Duke and a possible 0-2 before playing at UVA 1/4, I'd be upset.
I think you’re right in that this year the ACCN is being featured, but if I recall correctly, there were games last November. I don’t think they were season openers though.

Having to start in December seems unavoidable, but at least get some games under their belts before they start engraving records into the conference standings with seedings on the line.

He wins one.....I smell a contract extension.

Both teams struggled at times. Pitt went extended stretches without scoring and then would turn around and go on a 10-0 run. This was a sloppy game with mistakes but you can see the potential in both teams. Once the Freshmen on both sides get up to speed with the pace of ACC basketball, they should both be formidable opponents. Pitt was lucky to escape with the win. FSU is going to be good again this year.

Eric Reveno was recently promoted to Assistant Head Coach. That's close to what I'd do. I'd instead go with "Acting Head Coach" for Reveno and "Starbucks Retrieval" for Pastner.
Miami up on Florida Atlantic.
Duke up on Colorado State.
Both running away.

Not much in the way of truly interesting basketball games until Sunday, when the Seminoles visit the Gators.
I wonder if we get more post for basketball than football?

This weekend we don't have what you'd call a marquee matchup in football (although Wake at VT is very important to both divisional races). Still, there are lots of games which will decide bowl eligibility, 3 games have a direct bearing on the conference championship, and every game in the Coastal could potentially have a bearing, so... I'm going football.
FSU owns the Gators. 6 in a row

Crazy that Pitt beats FSU, then they turn around with the Panthers losing to a bad Southland team while the ‘Noles beat preseason top 10 UF.

7'1" 4* commits to GT in no small part because of Reveno. I really think whenever Pastner gets the axe you should either require the next guy to keep Reveno or give Reveno a chunk of games as IHC to audition.

FSU almost pulled a Kentucky, just narrowly avoided the upset vs the WCU Catamounts.
Brilliant timing for a technical by Pastner. When can Reveno be made Acting Head Coach and Pastner made In-Name-Only Head Coach?
How bout dem Gobblers!?!

Buzz who? The wily ol' Wofford coach is making everybody forget that chump quickly.

And losing on a banked three. It’s not like Tech deserved to win, though. Neither team did.
