This being the first day of basketball season,

I'd like to welcome all of the Wichita State part timers back to the boards.
Bless their collective hearts...
Bah, Humbug!
The Wheat! The Wheat! We think they're pretty neat!

Love having our Shocker brethren from Nebraska back on the board!
Why aren't you guys a preseason top25?

I thought that's the whole reason we added them?
And I’d like to congratulate the hand on the asswhooping Tulsa bestowed on the mighty Houston Baptist. And props to the school kids for helping out with the attendance numbers.

Preseason? lol
Things go better with Koch.
What's the outlook for the season?
Baylor just demolished Central Arkansas. What famous player played for C. Arkansas? No google.

Pippen. (I was just looking at Pippen's Wiki earlier today by coincidence)

Now, what player went to SEOSU?

Hey man, I'm happy Wichy St is back in action. Winning program, great coach and passionate fans. That's better than some can say in the AAC.
So early impressions (through 2 games, so take with a grain of salt) of who we lost and who "replaced them".

McDuffie - Wade: Right now it's hard to say he will fully replace it, but it's not hard to thing he won't be better. Good 3 pt shot, better Rebounder than McDuffie, and a more well rounded game (can play down low). Wont replace the circus shots that McDuffie took (and sometimes hit) but so far has been playing in the flow of the offense, which is what we need. Just needs to not fall in love with the 3.

SHJ - Sherfield: Sherfield is better and it's not even close plus he's just a freshman. Solid shot, leads the offense and doesn't just mindlessly dribble around. Not as quick as SHJ, but still a better defender.

Ricky Torres - Tyson Etienne: Etienne is a better shooter. Which is what we need from this. He hasn't shown a lot more but has been pretty poised for a freshman. Will need to expand his game from just spotting up from 3 though.

Rod Brown - Deantoni Gordon: Haven't seen a lot but very similar games. Good on the boards, but a lot to work on elsewhere. Feel like Gordon has a higher ceiling.

Overall at minimum 3 of the 4 spots are the same or better than last year. Arguably we upgraded at all 4 spots.

Can also toss in Chance Moore/Eli Farrkhan -> Josaphat Bilau and Noah Fernandes but neither of those really played and both might redshirt. So 2 players that didn't play getting replaced by younger players with potential.

For returners:
Dexter Dennis: continuing where he left off from last year. Seems to be a bit more aggressive which is what we need.
Erik Stevenson: Needs to find his shot ... and quick, because the guards behind him are going to quickly take his minutes. He does a lot of other things right though.
Jamarius Burton: Look good in the exhibition, but rolled his ankle and didn't return yesterday.

Bigs: - None have looked great. We need Echenique back quick
Midtgaard: Back to being a question mark after a strong finish last year
Poor-Bear: More mobile, but hasn't shown much yet.
Udeze: First game back for him last night and he looked pretty solid on the boards.
Love Wichita. Just need VCU to join them on the winter slate.
