Had not heard that was going to happen. I would think that is better than ESPN.....
2PM would be better.
Does this also mean better announcers?
We'll it looks like we will be on a major network like the Southern - Grambling game on NBC.

Ugh. Anything would be better than noon EST.

Is noon on ABC an improvement? I guess maybe if your cable package does not include ESPN. Seems lateral to me though in today's media world.

Do you think the celebration bowl has higher ratings than the FCS NC for other reasons?
Boo! Noon sux.
ABC is nice, and it would be cool if they would do a ganeday event also on ESPN, though suspect that will be focused on FBS bowls.

Noon is not ideal for sure, but that's the same time its been for at least a few years now. If it was choice, I'd prefer 4pm over 2pm I think, and maybe even later. The West coast is 3 hours behind us, plus it would give more tailgate time.

Hey just asking. Guess we'll see this winter.

I was legitimately asking, but yes, we'll see. Honestly won't be surprised if it ends up being the highest rated FCS NC game.

I agree, being on ABC will move the needle for casual viewers.
That is a pretty big win for cable cutters I would imagine as well as for channel surfers, do they still exist? I'd have to believe that if NDSU or JMU are in the game it is the biggest TV share in a long time. If both are playing it may rival many of the lower end bowl games.

Would Dukeman2's head explode if we got a higher rating than some bowls?
Now just move the game to a later time slot. Breakfast & football shouldn't collide.

Read somewhere that the NFL wildcard games are likely that day. Don’t think they will move those, or that it would get good viewership while those games are being played. Also doubt the NCAA can manage the logistics to change the date in Frisco ... you’ve got hotels and other things scheduled far in advance.
Saw this on different board:

"Last year, barely over 1 million (1,004,000) watched EWU-North Dakota State on ESPN2. The year before that with JMU 1,515,000 watched.
The Celebration Bowl on ABC had 2.345 million."
Quote:In 2016, the Grambling State Tigers defeated the North Carolina Central Eagles 10-9. The game was seen by a bowl record 2.7 million viewers on ABC as well as military members from over 140 countries on the Armed Forces Network.
I’m guessing the Armed Forces Network had something to do with those numbers.

Well considering the FCS title game on ESPN2 routinely outdrew viewership of roughly five ESPN bowl games any given season, the answer is yes.
