i dunno man - this isnt last years buffalo team. they arent exactly world beaters. its possible we lose - but i cant imagine it being by a big margin
Another close game. There are no gimmies. Team has played competitively outside of CMU. Remember those of us who said the team could go 8-4 or 4-8
Current forecast is 44 degrees with sun. I'll take it.

Buff is another team built around the run game. The defense must figure out a way to stop that in order to win.
Somehow the opening line is at a pick em.
We need to go 3-1 the rest of the way to secure a bowl berth. 6-6 with one of the wins vs a FCS will likely not get us there. Remaining games: Buffalo at Home, Akron Away, Northern Illinois Away and Kent State Home.

We need to win this game badly to not put us totally up against the wall

all winnable games - K State might be the toughest

I disagree about having to go 3-1 to get a bowl game! Against non FCS teams, that leaves us at 6-5, and I just don't see us getting picked! Remember W Mich could've 7 wins, same with Ball St, same with C Mich, same with Buffalo, Ohio U, Miami! We need to go 8-4 to guarantee a bowl game I believe! Buffalo, At N Illinois, and Kent St all will not be easy! They're licking their chops after seeing our run defense against Toledo!

Just gotta load the box and leave the corners out on an island. Or try a 5 man front with 2 LB's instead of our 4 man. I'd rather force their QB to make some good throws, than just sit in our base defense and get gashed the entire game. The personnel isn't going to change, we are who we are with this front 7.

I agree 10000 percent, but will Creighton ever change? Peters for Toledo was Weak, but he wasn't forced to throw it very often! Maxx played well yesterday against the Texans! I watched the game!

The great news is that they are on their backup QB and their All MAC QB and great receivers from last year are gone as well. They truly don't do much through the air.

The bad news is that they run the ball very well, James Patterson is quick and hard to tackle as well. We have played 4 MAC games this year and in each we have allowed a 100 yard rusher for our opponent. This game presents more of the same.

The "badder" news is that Buffalo has a horrible kicking game. So if presented with a fourth and short, Buffalo likely will opt to go for it. Opponents are converting 80% of fourth down conversions this year in contrast to 41% last year!

As Tough said "we are who we are" and we need to stop the run game. Crosby, Harris and Rachwal are not playing this Saturday so we need to adjust the game plan for sure.
I think this will be a slugfest like last year's NIU game. Defensive battle. Buffalo has the defense we hoped we'd have this year. They can run and stop the run. I see short passes and screens instead of handoffs for us.

Line is 50.5. I'll take the under.
Time for Neathery to prove he is more than Maxx, Jerry Harris, and Rachwal.
So, we’ve jumped to a two point favorite. That’s a big shift in a short period of time. Hopefully the gambling community is onto something.
