With the additions of Damian Dunn and Josh Pierre-Louis for the 2019 class, transfers Tai Strickland and Jake Forrester, and new verbal commits Jahlil White and Quincy Ademokoya for the 2020 class, it has become clear that Temple's recruiting, thus far, has shifted toward hard driving high tempo players.
Dunn, JPL, White, and Ademokoya are SG/CGs or SG/wings who specialize in up tempo offensive play. Strickland is a patient, steady
half-court PG, and Forrester is an athletic mid-sized PF with good jumping ability.
In prior years, Temple has played the game at an average pace, rarely pushing the ball up the floor, and playing a somewhat predictable half-court offense.
It appears that this is going to change, once the speedier new recruits work their way into Temple's basketball rotations over the next 2-3 seasons. In the 2019-20 season, Dunn and/or JPL will get some opportunities to give a highlight of things to come in that respect.
Coach McKie has made it clear that his preference will be to play a significantly higher tempo game, and 4 of the 6 most recent recruits are consistent with that plan.
