This evening’s #4 Appalachian State at #17 Louisiana game is a big one!

Do G5 fans care or understand how big??? IDK.

I’ll be at work so I’ll be score watching.

I’d think all MW and American fans will be LaLa Ragin Cajon fans tonight.

Dem pesky Mountaineers just won’t go away.
I'm waiting for Fresno State at San Jose State showdown at the end of the year .... it could be for a G5 top 20 spot. Unless we both lose 3 more games between now and then. But then it might be for a Bowl berth.

App St would need AAC and MWC champ to have 2 losses, and even there might not be enough. Their schedule is just so bad in conference play.

Agreed. I think App would have to really blow out South Carolina on their way to 13-0 for any argument over a 2 loss AAC champ, even then I doubt it. If the AAC champ was 10-3 I could see it.

If App wins out and there is no G5 champion ranked ahead of them, it won’t matter about schedule, conference, or anything else. Much like WMU a few years ago, if they are the highest ranking G5 champion, they’re in.

I hope App State goes unbeaten, and the AAC champ has a loss. It will be fun fun fun watching all the AAC fans who whined whined whined that UCF deserved playoff spots because They Won All Their Games suddenly start spouting about how the AAC champ deserves the NY6 spot because they played a tougher schedule.

Thanks for the support.

Regardless, it's just insanely gratifying to seey Alma mater doing so freaking well in just our fifth full season of bowl eligibility. App is trying to be the new Boise, a former 1-AA/FCS power who takes its new conference and the rankings by storm. So far, so good. To borrow from the Carolina Panthers, App just has to keep pounding.
Other YYYYYUUUUUGE games coming up this Saturday...

#8 Hawaii 4-1 @ #1 Boise State 5-0
#3 Memphis 5-0 @ #11 Temple 4-1
#10 Wyoming 4-1 @ #12 San Diego State 4-1
#6 Cincinnati 4-1 @ #20 Houston 2-3
*And what makes these 4 games even yuger, is they are all cross division games that might have HFA implications for their respective conferences’ CCGs!

Big, not yuge, games...

#19 Fresno State 2-2 @ #9 Air Force 3-2
#24 Georgia State 3-2 @ #15 Coastal Carolina 3-2
#14 Navy 3-1 @ #25 Tulsa 2-3
#22 San Jose St 3-2 @ #18 Nevada 3-2

*BTW, the App State-LaLa game was yuge, not just big. And that game did not disappoint in entertainment and competitiveness!
The Memphis/Temple 1 is really huge because if you look at Memphis schedule- this is their toughest game left on the road. everything else they could win and get at home.
Why the ENTIRE top 25 matters...

Not probable, but POSSIBLE, scenario: Houston, Fresno State, Toledo, Louisiana and La Tech all run the table, or, come close to, the rest of the season and win their respective CCGs...

...and, voila! Who goes NY6 dancin’?
Oops

You know how this goes...y’all will do well, get a rank and progress upwards, just in time for GS to come into town and piss in your cereal. 04-cheers
Will future weeks include teams after they are eliminated from division title contention?

Good point. I hadn’t thought of that. Only use keeping them on there would be to say, “gee, how close we came”, I guess.

Also good to see total conference points. It is a top 25 so I guess a “Z” next to their name for “eliminated” will do.
