Sorry this is just a prediction. Actually I want us to take care of business in Houston then we will be in great shape regardless of where we poll this week.
I believe that is just a CBS projection of what the AP poll will be.
Bearcats are #26 in the coaches' poll: https://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/po...ches-poll/
Completely reasonable. Boise is still so overrated this year. How committee sees through it
Also, 2 teams are ranked (SMU/Memphis) and 5 others from the AAC are receiving votes in the Coaches' Poll. So in essence, 7 of the top 41 teams in the country reside in our league if you go by that poll. Pretty impressive start for the AAC.
Coaches poll is out and Bearcats arent in. Arizona State jumped 4 spots on a bye and Minnesota, whose best win is against a 2-3 Illinois team who struggled with UConn jumped into the #25 spot.

Gotta keep that Big 10 inflated.

" It is better to be lucky than good" definitely is a apt description of Minnesota's season so far.

Official poll is now out SMU 21, Memphis 23, Cincinnati 25

Totally. Would love to see BYU or Utah State take them down. Honestly believe that the American has five or six teams from the 20 to 45 range this year. The top of league is closer the Big East was during its last few years.

Does anybody honestly believe that UC is better than Michigan State?

Not better than Sparty. But certainly better than Minnesota.

Yes

To be fair-- SMU is ranked #37 (behind UC and Memphis,) in Sagarins rankings. Their best win is vs TCU who just got slapped by Iowa State. They are overrated as well.

I don't care about rankings. I care about UC winning the AAC and then good things will happen. I'm not going to get butthurt bc coaches slot in an undefeated Minnesota into the top 25. Guess what, they won't sniff the top 25 again after their first loss.

Nothing will bring me down this week after that awesome win over UCF.

That said, UC are ranked #25 in the AP, and to me it doesn't matter unless they go on to win the AAC.
Rankings are great for recruiting. Always show on the ESPN front page. We’re never gonna be in the CFP so being in the Top 25 is all we can hope for. I’m good with #25. After #12 it’s all a muddled mess anyways.
Yea. Not complaining about the rankings. UC is ranked reasonably. Could be higher, could be lower. Plenty of volatility in that group of teams.

This! Every time UC is ranked the casual fan see it and associates UC with a winning team. Every recruit wants to commit to a top 25 team that is being talked about/sees them on ESPN.

IF they can stay in the polls week in and out it adds instant credibility, better time slots and more airtime and coverage. I personally like the extra attention, articles and better announcing crews.

Hard to say. If we were in the Big Ten, this is about where I would expect us to be:

Definitely better than UC: OSU, Wisconsin, Penn State
Probably better than UC: Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa
Probably worse than UC: Minnesota, Maryland, Nebraska
Definitely worse than UC: Northwestern, Purdue, Rutgers, Illinois, Indiana

That's pretty damn good considering our disadvantages with conference affiliation and monetary resources.
Why are we being punished so much for taking an ass kicking at O$U ??? Nobody's even come close to them this year.

And, how bad would O$U beat Boy-z state???

We're not really.

25 and 26 are completely reasonable.
