Tarleton St will much less travel in the Southland than even in the Lone Star.

Tarleton is not even in the WAC yet and you are already talking about their inevitable move to the Southland. You are such an annoying tool...

Exactly. I love you PP.
Texas high school football stadiums are amazing. However, lots of room to expand Tarletons stadium if and when the time comes.
Any chance this encourages UTRGV to start football?

This gives them a Texas Conference mate

It is possible, but they need to add female sports which they added beach volleyball. The study shows they can add football, it is just when they start the process. Just to raise a lot of cash first.
They have been invited and have not joined. They could be using the invite as a way to leverage an invite from SLC.

Can you name the last time a school said they received an invite from a conference and then used it to join another? I’ll wait

Just throwing a possibility out there. TS fans seem more interested in getting into the SLC and using the WAC to do so.

That’s exactly what will happen.

When Sam Houston St, Lamar, and McNeese St join the WAC for FBS, the Southland will need Tarleton badly, as it wouldn’t have enough FCS schools.

The WAC just extended an invitation to conceal to the media and the NCAA voters that it intends to be FBS again. Tarleton would spend millions just on travel more than the Southland and can not afford it.

Bakersfield has been waiting forever to get in the Big West even within the WAC. When Big West finally invited them, even after much initial disparaging and name calling from other BW schools, it took them a second to say yes and leave the WAC. This will be even shorter time frame for Tarleton and one year longer for Dixie St,

It’s not a possibility, as the WAC would not invite them if they were going to turn them down for the SLC.

Of course TSU fans would be more interested in the SLC. They wouldn’t have to put together an Indy schedule and could drive to conference matchups. The WAC is their only option at the moment.
It starts around 5 min mark.

At about the 6:50 mark the speaker does say that they were provided a DI offer in the "conference they wanted". This certainly makes it seem like their choice is the WAC and they just need to get the students to agree to higher athletic fees.

Still watching it. I was hoping they would list WAC student fees.
Around the 38 min mark a student asks what the WAC student fees are. They don't have the numbers on hand. They are waiting for their consultant to gather that data. You'd think it would've been in their study.

That does not make a lot of sense. They should have those numbers. The Lone Star Conference thinks it is a done deal:

The LSC released a statement by commissioner Jay Poerner which simply stated, “On Monday, Tarleton State submitted their official notification of withdrawal from the Lone Star Conference, effective June 30, 2020. They’ve been a valued member of the LSC for many years and we wish them the best of luck with their transition.”

To be fair, I'm a Tarleton alum and have followed this for years.

I know. They seem unready to do this. Should have the student fee's figured out at this point.

There is no need to figure out any fee except for a Southland one. Southland wannabe FBS schools will move to the WAC anyway, and the Southland will officially invite Tarleton.
