Yesterday was a nice day in our nation's capital for football. Go to a park, bring the tablet, bring a soda (not beer) and watch EMU FB... Oops, I forgot it was "Bye Saturday" 03-lmfao

Hopefully the wife didn't suggest turning the day into 'Buy Saturday.'

Anyway, we can say 'bye' to bye week and look ahead to CMU week.

Those who watched CBSSN saw CMU travel to K'zoo and were soundly handled. Hard game to watch. CMU had a QB named 'Ward' and their primary RB is also named 'Ward.' Thankfully Ward (RB) didn't catch any passes from Ward (QB).

EDIT: The poster below caught my error... QB is Moore.

However, fmr. CMU QB, Poljan, caught a bunch of balls as a TE. We saw this movie before: QB built like a TE, ends up being one (TE). Ward (QB) is quick. Poljan is not.

One CMU DT (?) kept jumping off sides. I counted one, two, and maybe three times.

This game was not a CBSSN classic like the EMU / Army game in 2017.

Anyway, I think the bye came at a good time after a let down game following two P5 games.

I have a feeling that the betting line on our game will be say EMU by 5. That seems pretty low to me. I look for a double-digit win.

The big thing is that CMU is coming off tough games vs. Miami (FL) and WMU, both on the road.

EMU is coming off a bye (ah, you already knew that)... 03-lmfao
Steve,
CMU's QB is #2 David Moore. Jonathon Ward is their runing back.

5 point favorites sounds about right. Central has a stout run defense, but the secondary will be challenged to defend our passing game if our line can give Glass enough time.

Okay, maybe I wasn't drinking soda during the game. 02-13-banana

Man, did I blow that one.... don't know how I did it.
Anyone going to the game?
We should have McGill back, and hopefully we get Clay Holford back as well. Would be a big boost to our defense.

I also hope CCSU served as a wake up call to this team. Sleep-walking into games won't cut it.
BTW, this is the CMU website on their QB, David Moore. He is a fmr. Memhis Univ. QB and then JUCO and then CMU.

Going to be making the trip north for this one.

Was in Kalamazoo for the rivalry game yesterday as I try to go every year, quite the atmosphere before kickoff.

Several of the coaches spent time on the road doing recruitment visits during the bye week. It was a comparatively quiet week during practices as opposed to game week practices. They still did their typical drills, as well as a little stronger focus on conditioning during the bye week, but practices were somewhat lighter than game-week practices. Good opportunity to heal some of the bumps and bruises, and at 3-1, the guys have earned a bit of a break. Back to full-bore this week!

As far as the CCSU game goes, it is accepted they did not have their best day that game, but they are not dwelling on it. The coaches and players have put it behind them, and in typical Creighton fashion, they are focusing at going 1-0 against CMU. In my opinion, putting that one behind them is the right thing to do.

Thanks for the comments.

I think players 'move on' from a bad game much quicker than fans.

There is a completely different mindset.
We are a 5 point favorite with the OV/Un at 53 1/2 points.

That predicts a 29 - 24 win for the visitors from Ypsilanti.
I see eastern smashing central this weekend. Think you guys should be a TD + favorite. I think central will be beat up after two tough matchups on the road st U Miami’s & WMU , EMU has started the season well as I expected and got a wake up call against CCSU. I see them beating CMU by double digits and will be betting it, big. - former WMU Bronco
This week's press conference with Creighton, Desmond Kelly, Mike Van Hoeven, and Terry Myrick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9iy9pb6mD4

Myrick said exactly what you want to hear after a down week - they had multiple players-only meetings on how to fix their preparation. Our Senior captains called the meetings. Sounds like really great leadership from them.

BTW, this is why our defense isn't as dominant as last year. Check out #98.

Our guys gotta get this very winnable game against CMU this week to stay on track in the West. Their backup QB Moore is a good player, but I'm expecting Neathery to have his guys prepared for a much better performance this week.

Let's get it boys!
I'm planning on going to the game tomorrow. I'm assuming tickets are not needed in advance so we will be buying them when we get there. Does anyone know what section is the visitors sit in?
Current odds:

Line: EMU -6.0
O/U: 54

************
If my math hasn't failed me, that equates to EMU 30, CMU 24.

i would get a real kick out of winning a game by multiple scores for once
