This Week:
1. Eastern Michigan
2. Toledo
3. Buffalo
4. Western Michigan
5. Kent St
6. Central Michigan
7. Northern Illinois
8. Miami
9. Ohio
10. Ball St

---Eagles with 3 wins, almost upset, but good teams find ways to win
---Rockets thru Chippewas all have 2 wins, all 1 vs FBS competition.
-Rockets 2nd, winning on the road against MountWest isn't easy
-Bulls win over Temple better then Broncos win over Georgia St
-Golden Flashes & Chippewas both wins over weak MAC teams
----NIU just 1 win, but had bye
---Redhawks thru Cardinals all with 1 win only, but have played tough competition. Lot of possibility to climb
--- Falcons dominant in FCS win, losses not so much
--- Zips @ 0-4

1-3 definitely good
4-10 all lumped in
11-12 bad
Ball St is underrated. Yeah, they don't seem to know how to win but they can ball. vs NC St they had more yards, more first downs, were +2 turnovers and still lost by 11. I believe they had 5 possessions inside the NCSt 40 that resulted in 6 total points, add in a blocked punt and a punt return td and that's finding a way to lose. still, that offense will be tough for MAC defenses to control.

CMU the toughest to read so far. Obliterated vs wisonsin cut wisky is a top 5 type team. right there with Miami Fla but Miami has struggled this year. easy win vs akron but akron is awful.

buffalo was impressive vs a good temple team

toledo got a solid road win
I thought we did pretty good against Bye.

agreed! i hope we can perform as well this week against Bye as you guys did last week! 03-lmfao Fly The Bye Flag!
Agree with these rankings, WMU shoudl be ranked in the middle / bottom of the pack until we prove otherwise. For the record, I think the Broncos finish near the top at the end.
MAC West will be decided 10/5...

4. OHIO
5. Kent St
6. Buff
7. Ball St
8. NIU
9. CMU
10. Miami

The front runners for the West are Toledo and EMU at this point, so no. If WMU beats Toledo, the Rockets still host EMU and NIU, while avoiding Ohio and Miami.

Actually, Bowling Green should be 12th.

The reason: UMass left the league. There is no 13 spot anymore.

Based on your losses to Kentucky?

Was this by design? 3 west teams, then 3 east, then 3 west, then 3 east.

Based on both EMU, and Toledo have good road wins.
Based on EMU and Toledo host Western.
Based on EMU and Toledo both avoid Ohio and Miami.

Colorado St isn't much better then Georgia St.

Homefield advantage means little. The better team usually wins no matter where the games played.

Miami fans don't seem too high on the Redhawks this year. See below for the 'WMU has Ohio' defense

If WMU beats Toledo then loses to Ohio, WMU would have the tiebreaker over Toledo. Toledo would need WMU to lose at least one more (if not more then that) as well.

That being said, I do think EMU and UT are the frontrunners in the division. EMU looks well-coached and has found out how to win. Their downfall could be that they still recruit a lot lower then the rest of the MAC, tho.

UT, because they're UT. They're pretty much always good! Their downfall could be that they struggle on defense too.

Plus there's always NIU.

Bottom line, I predicted WMU/NIU/UT/EMU all fighting it out pre-season. So far, still looks like that's how it'll be, tho BSU & CMU are gonna get some upsets.

Home field advantage does matter. NIU wins like every game at home. How many losses in the past decade do they have at home? Like Utah and CMU? Also Toledo is going to sell out this week and likely vs. WMU too. So crowds like that in the MAC, when you get accustomed to playing in front of flies matters. Bet we have 20k for EMU and NIU too.

And WMU has 5 loseable games in the conference. Toledo has 3. I assure you nothing will be locked up until mid to late November.
I agree home field advantage matters -- us traveling to Syracuse, the hot/humid dome that's Loud by default is easier than playing Kzoo. Also, sure, among mid-majors and some P5s, the crowd/stadium factor doesn't hold much weight -- but Traveling does. And remaining consistent. This isn't NFL, so even without a loud crowd, not only psychologically but also having to travel and do all that jazz can throw you off. Being able to handle that shows more solidity in the program.

My rankings:
1. Toledo (Could have been down-to-wire and possibly win with luck @UK, but QB injured; Won @CSU; Still too early to tell)
2. Eastern Michigan (Won @Illinois; Won @Coastal Carolina who beat @Kansas; Best Record in MAC; Feisty Emus)
3. Western Michigan (Whipped GA-State; Put up over 350 yards on Top-Tier MSU D; Over 500 yards on Syracuse; Best O, Low-End D that can make them drop)
4. Buffalo (Tough 1st half against PSU before getting spanked; Beat Temple Easily at home!! But after getting solidly Beat by @Liberty who Syracuse solidly beat)
5. Kent State (Got whipped by @ASU; Trounced by @Auburn but that's passable; Beat Elite FCS at home; Didn't break 30pts on O against BGSU - Broke 60!)
5. Ohio (Disappointing so far; Lost to @Pitt a little easier than expected; Lost to @Marshall Very Respectably, but Lost at home to ULL Soundly)
5. Northern Illinois (Got solidly beat by @Utah; Pounced on by @Nebraska, but beat good FCS at home; Still too early to tell, plays Vandy; Can Jump Up)
5. Central Michigan (Got bent over bare-back by Wisconsin; But Whipped Akron to show they were no lap dog; Played Miami-FL CLOSE!)
9. Ball State (Fought tough against Indiana in 10pt loss; Same against supposed G5 good team FAU this year; played @NCST CLOSE suprisingly)
10. Miami-OH (Playing less than expected coming into this year; O struggles; HC not exactly PJ Fleck Inspiring; Still has chance to step up to potential)
11. Bowling Green (Hey, they at least got one win, stomping an FCS)
11. Akron (Zero wins; Had a respectable game against UAB; Blown out by @Illinois, @CMU, and Troy)

They'll probably knock one of the four off though. Perhaps be a monkey wrench in an East teams schedule.
