Wazzou. They were up 38 mid way through the 3rd. UH's collapse was bad, the ending was ridiculously pathetic, but if we're looking at the total collapse, Wazzou by a mile.

First, the phrase was invented to just for them. Kind of like the 12th Man phrase refers to Texas A&M.

Second, No Leach team has ever been expected to play defense. Defense is just not a priority with that coach.

Third, Holgorsen is the $4 million man. I think Leach is at $3.5 million.

You came THIS close to convincing me the answer is Houston but , no, still has to be Wazzoo.

the unexplained losses to D1-AA and horrible D1-A teams, the blown leads with terrible coaching decisions helping the loss, the bad defense, the bad special teams, the bad clock management, the lazy recruiting......that is all part of the package to get the occasional (very rare) "big win" (and that big win always being wasted with the horrible loss that cost a ranking or a conference championship or a big bowl slot) and the blowout wins over mostly bad teams where the coach refuses to put younger players in for experience because stats matter more than next year....and then next year you always start out with a team that is deep in some areas, but a QB that has 5 college snaps under his belt over the last 3 seasons.......or you have a QB qith experience and an Oline that has none and a D that is terrible......and it just repeats year in and year out

Wazzu. Why? They blew their chance in going undefeated in the Pac-12 and have a possible spot in the CFP. Same with Utah.

Houston at this point wasn’t playing for anything after their losses to Oklahoma and Washington State except for a spot in an ESPN owned pre-Christmas bowl that nobody cares about.

No contest. 50 points in the last 19 minutes to a winless team? That's hard to do.

No doubt Leach has unacceptable losses to New Mexico, Houston, Colorado and aggy but he had some pretty damn good wins as well vs UT, OU, aggy, and Oklahoma St

Leach has taken 2 mediocre to bad football programs and made them relevant.

When Kliff got fired, I wanted Leach or Holgorsen but the Texas Tech AD wanted nothing to do with them. Instead we got a g5 HC that might lose more than pine box or Kliff did.

Karma is an unwelcome word among Red Raider faithful but we haven't been relevant since his unjust firing. Kent Hance and Craig James are somewhere laughing at the destruction of the Texas Tech football program.

Definitely not a good look to have a senior QB quit 4 games into the season. In fairness, King says he is "redshirting" to be available next year when UH might be good.

I call BS and think King wants out but we shall see. Holgerson wouldn't be the 1st UH HC to quit on a season hoping the next season is better.

Bill Yeoman tanked the 1975 season so UH could win the 1976 SWC title, their 1st year in the league.

Make that four reasons...

Fourth, King has now quit on the team for at least this season.

Worshington State. They were ranked and lost at home to a coach that that was 3-12 coming in and not able to sniff a close game in three tries this season. It was a collapse of epic proportions; no, make that Biblical proportions.

Outside of folks that don't follow/root for the American Conference, Tulane was not a big surprise. They have been a steadily improving program under Coach Fritz and they beat a solid, but not spectacular, Houston squad at home. The Green Wave played Auburn the previous week pretty dern tough in Jordan-Hare and they gained some confidence for the Houston game.

We beat numerous credible teams and spent most of the season ranked before falling apart due to injuries the year we beat Leach. We had a better year than Tech arguably (2009). Two weeks before beating Tech, we beat a really good Oklahoma State team in Stillwater before they fell apart due to injuries (they themselves had beat Georgia), how was our win unacceptable to him?

then tried to blame it on the players because that is the type of idiot he is

he did the same in the New Mexico Bowl costing WSU their first bowl win and winning season in many years and he did the same against CU while at WSU
