Full Version: Poll: Should the AAC remain at 11 schools, add a 12th school, or add 1 FB only and 1

It came as a surprise to see the earlier poll, which showed BYU was the top choice for adding a 12th school, since BYU would presumably be added for FB only.

You might prefer to see the AAC add one school for both sports, but this poll also allows you to vote to add 1 for FB, add 1 for the other sports, or stay at 11 teams.

OT NOTE: Interestingly, if UConn were no longer in the AAC this season, the AAC's RPI rank might be tied with that of the ACC. As it is, the AAC's RPI rank (25.34) is only slightly behind that of the ACC (25.79) at this point, heading into next weekend's matchup with GT @ Temple.

NOTE:

This poll is intended for AAC fans. If you're a fan of a different conference and want to vote, please vote on the basis of which option you think is best for the AAC conference.

Delusion knows no limits. Never mind that the MW has a better record against P5.

Our perennial bottom feeder team, one of the most moribund programs in FBS for the last 15 years just went into the stadium of an SEC team as a 24 point underdog and beat them And looked damn good doing it too.

I'm an AAC fan, not just a Temple fan.

SMU's win over #25 TCU and Tulsa's win over Wyoming offsets the bad news today for both TU and UCF.

The best news today is that the AAC's conference RPI is edging very close to the ACC's conference RPI. Hopefully, Temple will beat GT next week to narrow the difference still further.
AAC is 7-12 vs other top6 conferences after 4 weeks

MW is 8-10

Pac is 10-9

ACC is 7-7

Sadly this is not the year for the p6 campaign.....

Please be specific - which MWC team achieved that feat?

I respect the MWC, but your conference RPI is currently ranked#8, behind the AAC and the Independents "Conference."

Man, you are lazier than me. And I didn’t think that was possible. San Jose just beat Arkansas as a 24 point underdog in Fayetteville.

This year so far the MWC has 8 P5 wins by 7 different teams (Hawaii has two).

Regardless, congrats on your big win over Houston!

As far as the RPI rankings are concerned, the AAC's conference RPI is higher than that of the MWC, and only slightly behind that of the ACC.

If it weren't for UConn, we might be tied with the ACC in conference RPI.
Interestingly, so far, 3/4 of respondents would like to add 1 FB and 1 non-FB school (e.g., BYU, VCU).

I have no beef with the MWC. Congratulations on the 8 wins over P5 teams. Yeah, that win by SJSU was amazing.

There is a whole lot more parity between the better G5s/Indies and the P5s than most people realize.

The MWC is off to a good start this year. Hope y'all win some more games vs. P5s.

Tulsa was impressive today vs. Wyoming, but almost lost that game at home in the last minute. Great goal line stand, I take it.

They beat Arkansas. Whoopity ******* do. They also lost to perennial AAC bottom feeder Tulsa by 18 points at home last week. Tulsa also beat the best team in the MWC today. UCF's loss hurt and Temples was embarrassing but the AAC is still ahead of the MWC as the 6th best conference.

Yeah I think Wyoming outside of Laramie is utterly atrocious. I don’t think you realize just how heinous San Jose has been over the last 15 years. I think they literally have the worst record in all of FBS over that timeframe.

Great job, Hurricane!

I noticed that y'all split your series with the Spartans of MSU and SJSU, and also that the GH acquitted themselves pretty well on the road vs. some good Big Ten competition.

The AAC West may be strong contenders for the AAC Championship this season, coming off the heels of the losses by UCF and Temple.

See you when you post crap like this it tells me that you have no interest whatsoever in having a serious discussion and being civil. It comes across as very trollish and hijacks the thread. There’s nothing wrong with being a conference homer, but when you have absolutely no objectivity whatsoever it detracts from the thread. You’re literally bragging about being number six. Take a step back and think about how absurd that sounds. Sixth or seventh, you’re still not P5. The cartel hate you, they have contempt for you. You are a deplorable. Own it. Wear it as a badge of honor. Don’t beg and grovel for their acceptance. You will never get it.

Agree with that point, although the MWC is having a very good season. Glad to see all the G5 conference having success against the loathed P5.

Hoping to see Houston have success later on this season in both sports. The battle for the AAC MBB crown should be exciting, with Houston, Memphis, Cincy, et al. in the mix, maybe Temple, Wichita, USF, and an improved UConn team.

Wyoming's win against Mizzou is the best win by a MWC team. Tell me otherwise. Boise got ranked because they have a bigger name and because they beat FSU before we realized how garbage they were. Mizzou on the other hand is 3-0 after losing to Wyoming. Wyoming had the better resume before their loss today.

I don't know who you're calling a troll, but all I see is average inter-conference banter. I respect the MWC - you're having a great year as a conference - hope you keep having success against the vile P5s.

You're right - it's debatable who is the #6 conference. By RPI rank, it's the AAC. By W-L records, its the MWC. And the Independents are having a pretty good year, due to the success of Army and BYU and the semi-independent ND.
