High Scoring game approaching:

AState gets the ball first and scores in 4 plays. SIU responds by scoring in 3 plays

7-7 less than 3 minutes in.
Both teams go 3 and out, though SIU signals its intentions by going for it on 4th and 3 from their own 35...they didn't get it.
Pretty pass from Bonner to Merritt
Two play drive for AState that time. 14-7

In other news, Kirk Merritt is finally healthy...
William Bradley King has 2 sacks, a tackle for loss and has committed 35 yards in penalties in a span of 5 plays. That really hard to do...
SIU scores in 7 plays 14-14

Only way we don't struggle in league play is if the entire conference universally agrees to not pass on our awful secondary.

We accept your offer.

I said that, then spent the next 5 minutes trying to think of a league team that actually threw it well on our schedule other than Troy. We don't face App, Southern and Coastal are option teams, UL is very run heavy. ULM is hit and miss, and Georgia State, Texas State and South are well...themselves.
AState drives but is held to a Field Goal 17-14.
Just found this game on TV! Go Red Wolves. 17-14 lead for ARK. ST. after field goal...
SIU fumbles and we score in 4 plays 24-14.

William Bradley King now has 2 sacks, a tackle for loss, a fumble recovery and 35 yards in penalties today...that's incredible.
SIU uses a 250 pound full back at the QB Position to drive all the way to the 5, and then manages to doink a FG right as our terrible ESPN3 crew brought up they hadn't missed a kick all year.
Naturally we tried a flea flicker against an FCS team and Bonner gets hurt.
SIU drives inside the 10 again, throws a pick, and we then proceed to drive 95 yards in 45 seconds to go up 31-14 right at the end of the half...
And SIU scores to open the 2nd half 31-21

Might be a high scoring affair in Troy next weekend.
Astate up 41-28 with 6 minutes left. We've forced one punt today. But have stopped them a ton once they get inside the 10
Looking forward to a marquee Sun Belt matchup in Troy.

Kid also fielded punts. He was huge and fast. Thought might be FBS transfer. Nope redshirt freshman from Centralia, IL

Wish we could find a guy like that. He was a beast.
