My brother would have been 70 today. One of JMU's all time greatest fans. I miss him and I know the old timers on here do as well.

All-time great for sure!
Happy BIrthday OJF!

You’re still with us, only wish you were here for the ride. Good times. Good, good times.
My favorite OJF one-liner...

Great guy who loved JMU, board members, and of course his family.

OJF Shares the Christmas Spirit
I donated to his memorial plaque or whatever it wound up being at Bridgeforth. How did that come out?

Maker's Mark and ginger, right?
Nice find, Dukester.
Miss that guy...

One of the benches next to the entrance to the stadium is dedicated to dad. We stop and finish our drinks there before every game.

Nice. He is loving that.
OJF and many of us others went to JMU games when it wasn’t nearly so crowded or popular. We were diehard Duke Club reps who loved JMU. I always felt like the 2004 title was for all of us who supported football when not many others did. 2004 in Chatty was a special night. I am so glad OJF was alive to experience it.

Happy birthday OJF. You are missed brother.

Is it okay if I start doing this too? I think it's amazing and would love to honor his memory with my last sip of Makers and Ginger before heading into the game.

More the merrier.
He and I flew and roomed together at Chatty in '04.

Did you two end up in the Clarion Hotel bar post game with a bunch of Montana faithful? I seem to remember him sharing that story.
He was fond of braille !
He was a
True Duke.
We reminisced just yesterday evening, watching App beat UNC.

Last time app beat a “P5” team was at Michigan in ‘07.

Coincidentally we played at UNC that same day.
My then 9YO son and I made the trip and met up with OJF and Hart prior to heading out to tailgate where we rather quickly accumulated a decent crowd listening to this newfangled thing called a Sirius radio in the Mrs.’s minivan.

App st upsetting Michigan. Crowd all cheers, some UNC fans feeling a little unsettled at the prospect coming up, though.

Good news, and the best takeaway of that day and game was that my son learned his near entire lexicon of cursing, foul mouthed language, salty talk and whatever else in about two short hours with brief talks with OJF and Hart, but 98.7% OJF.

Saved me the time and effort of teaching him that myself...

Funny how things often go full circle.

We stayed late into the night partying with JMU fans at the Convention Center located beside the Marriott Hotel. Marc did find a few Montana fans to share a drink (or 2) at a little bar inside our convenient but cheap Days Inn hotel.
