Obviously we aren’t either of those programs, but it can be done on a much smaller scale if you have the talent. And I have no problem playing fast. It would be a welcomed change from the previous regime.

BULLSEYE, Samuel!

Great coaches recruit the best athletes they can find. They then mold both their offensive and defensive approach to allow their roster to exploit their abilities as best possible. That is coaching, plain and simple.

Rob recruited talent very well, he simply refused to adjust his strategy. His best team was probably in 2017-18, they were just a basket from the NCAA tourney. The next year, however, Murph just did the same old, same old and expected JT4 to replace Tim Bond on the wing of his zone. C'mon man!

Four guards can win, so can a huge frontline. It's up to the coach do adjust to what he has available.

EMU folks got to know him. He's from Jersey.

Texas A&M probably the leader there.
Menifield Jr is blowing up as he continues his strong summer league play. Boston College and St Bonaventure are just two offers he has received in the last three days. He may not go to prep school as indicated but get signed This summer. He is now at 5 D1 offers us Toledo Cleveland St Boston College and St Bonaventure.
Menifield Jr adds Washington to his offer list.

Added New Mexico St to his growing offer sheet yesterday (7/20)
Borrowing from the Toledo board-This is why you don't completely fill out your 2021 roster unless its with one and done grad transfers to avoid situations like this:

With the summer recruiting season in high gear for Men’s Basketball, you got to wonder how TK and Staff are going to handle the 2022 Recruiting Class as they do not have any scholarships available as of today. While transferring in as Juniors before last season with 2 years eligibility, both Sedric Milner Jr and JT Shumate will have another season of available to them if they choose to come back next season since the 2020-21 pandemic season will not count against them. With that said, do you think it will be difficult for the Rockets to sign anybody during the fall early signing period even though TK’s tenure at Toledo is filled with players transferring out after each season? An interesting dilemma to say the least!

A team always wants a full and complete roster each season with the caveat that a team does’t want to sign a bad player.

Yes, this year’s roster should add a transfer in their last season unless the player or players signed are so good they are going to help EMU in futures year’s as well.

Just to follow up, he's staying at TSU.

Here is a Howard commit.

The Illinois star, Cockburn, entered the transfer portal.

These are not hardly Plan B players. Cockburn, I thought, was a NBA 2nd rounder.

I'd love to be a HM coach and have one or two scholarships in my back pocket.

Getting back to EMU. We still have one???

Don't know. Randle hasn't signed or publicly announced so we may two. The entire MAC has signed a nice group of transfers.

Randle is now on campus. Offensively, his videos show he can shoot and drive to the hoop. Defensively, he’s a shot-blocker.
Marko Milivojevic who we offered early was headed to AZ Western JUCO but now has signed with Maryland Eastern Shore
Omar Ziegler has just enrolled this semester with Henry Ford Community College.
I just don't know what's wrong with MI h.s. hoops. Here are the top 6 players per 247sports. ONLY Bates is scoring more than his GPA.

https://247sports.com/Season/2021-Basket...l&State=MI

Howard true frosh Elijah Hawkins is a thin (not muscular) version of someone like Earl Boykins. He might be say 5' 8" (certainly not near 6 feet any more than Boykins was 5' 11"). Scoring, rebounding and dishing the assists.

OTOH, here are Howard's frosh from DMV (actually, Maryland). in 2020, Howard played 5 games. Here is Steve Settle III. 14 ppg. This year 14 ppg and better percentages.

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket...settle-iii

BOTH are from DeMatha H.S. The same famous h.s. of Morgan Wooten and also the alma mater of UofM's Hunter Dickinson.
Drew Lowder is averaging 26 pts per game at Lansing Community College. Some school will take a chance since he had two years playing D1 prior to this year and academics shouldn't be an issue. Not sure at what level he will get an opportunity.

I think the 2023 senior class is NOW better than the 2022 senior class.

I think the 2022 senior class is very weak.

Do you think a 26 ppg at LCC is MAC caliber? I’m not sure if he has the foot speed for MAC. Your thoughts?

I would think some schools will look at his tape from Holy Cross and EMU.

I doubt he has gotten a step faster since leaving EMU unless there is something we don't know.

If there is something which isn't obvious it is up to the player to let college coaches know (e.g., "I just got contact lens and my vision is better.").

Yes I agree. Many think the 2023 Michigan high school class is very good. That's why you want to have scholarships available.

I think he has D1 experience. His time at EMU was mired with COVID and injuries. Maybe a lower Div I. EMU had Green from LLC and we signed Rice. I would think if you are looking for depth Michigan JUCOs are okay. Not immediate impact league.

He has D1 potential for sure.

The root reason he is not at EMU was an academic issue, he would not have been eligible to play this season.
Unless there is an objection I'm going to recommend this thread be demoted from important to regular.
