A win down in Huntington enables the predicted (by most) 3-1 start. A non-conference loss to a quality G5 opponent on the road and UC is 2-2 heading into a very difficult stretch of conference games. Bowl eligibility at that point would require a sweep of the remaining four home games--a tall order with UCF looming in a few weeks and Temple later. There are winnable road games but we'll have to see better offensive execution for an entire game than we've witnessed so far.

I believe this team will get it done, but the Marshall game may tell us a lot about what to expect the rest of the way. Last year was fun; locking down bowl eligibility early. This one may go down to the wire.
Marshall is a good team. I think we pull this one out, but I'm only feeling about 60/40 confident.
UC opened -4.5. It's now at -3. A lot of early money jumped on Marshall with the perceived Money Line value.

I am not feeling real good about this game.
I agree. I feel like it’s our game to lose. Play a solid good game and we win, but a couple of mistakes here and there could easily turn this into an L.
Marshall looked pretty good to me playing @ Boise early this year. On the road against a ranked team.

Marshall was outgained 437 yards to 172 yards. But the final score was only 14-7 and it was a dogfight. Marshall's D was tough & gave the offense a lot of chances to win.

But their offense was unable to move in the 2nd half. Marshall's pass offense was inept - not counting the 1st quarter, Marshall was 4 of 11 passing for 6 yards with an interception and 3 sacks.
Marshall's QB sucks.
Marshall will not be easy at their place. They will be sky high to beat us. Remember they hammered us pretty good at Nippert just a couple years ago.
Their defense is pretty good. Their offense? Meh. If we can shut down the run they will have trouble moving the ball. Kinda like us, huh?

I watched the Boise/Mashall game a couple weeks ago. You are spot on. Really impressive D. Ugly offense. It will be interesting.
A 6-6 team loses this game, an 8-4 team wins it.

A 7-4-1 or 6-5-1 team ties it.
Then the universe implodes. What have I done?

A 3-11 team could win it too.

Unless the tie is a game, other than Marshall??

thx!
The early lines have us ranging from 2.5 to 3 point favorites on the road.

Pretty accurate I would think; I expect a low scoring defensive contest that will go down to the final seconds.

With UCF now having one loss out of conference, UC has a shot at jumping the Knights @ Nippert and it could propel the 'Cats back into the headlines. But only if Cincy takes care of business down in Huntington this week. Do that, beat UCF, and the AP voters will start taking notice again. OSU was a "quality loss" and if it's the only one, it's better than dropping a game @ Pitt.
