Really unfortunate news...

Lindsey just announced that BJ Smith, the SBC Preseason Offensive POTY is done for the remainder of the season after he suffered a leg injury in the 1st quarter of the USM game. He may be able to use a redshirt and come back next year since he's a senior.

We also lost WR Demontrez Brown for the year.

What a rough way to start a promising season.
that sucks
Especially sucks for those kids.

It really does. At the end of the day it's entertainment for us, but for them, it can affect their future as many of them could end up an after college league where that's their job.

well yeah, it sucks for them. Of course. But to say that many of them will be playing ball after college is a bit of a stretch.

A select few? Yeah. Many? Nah.

* could *
meh, semantics.

very few select "could". for a very large extreme majority, college will be the prime of their career, and I hate to see that get taken away from any of them.

I would suspect though that the guys injured recently on Troy, APP, and Arkansas State's roster have a pretty good chance of ending up on an XFL, or CFL roster if they can get healthy. Either way I agree it sucks.

I really meant it sucks as an athlete to train 24/7 for this and then be incapacitated. There is a mental and psychological toll on top of the physical.

It's a shame. I hope they can get another year at Troy to show everyone that they have recovered from their injuries.
A-State has lost all conference corner and our best defender Jerry Jacobs for the year. He was one of the few who didn't look over-matched by that Georgia offense. The others being interior DL. Man is Georgia big fast and strong.
