Texas State was REALLY BAD. And I think both Arky State and NTSU (wins 1&2 this season) are not as good as advertised.
Yes, SMU is pretty good and the future looks bright with Dykes and Kane coaching. This team should be able to compete with the better AAC teams (By the way...congrats to Temple!!)
The recruiting has been excellent and depth at almost all positions bodes well for tough fourth quarters. Three true freshmen got their feet wet yesterday in very positive ways and Buchele is the real deal.
Ahhh but the kicking game...I think we may actually have missed more PAT's than we made. Does that ever happen? Some of it is attributable to the kicker, some of it to the snapper and some to the line....but it sucks bad. Can we just go for two after every TD?
This coming weekend at TCU will tell be a very good gauge as to what to expect as the conference schedule kicks in.

It's also nice that all three games were against FBS opponents. Real solid start to the season for SMU!

#SMU is 3-0 for the first time since 1984. Mustangs are in the top 25 in rushing and passing offense. Impressive job by Sonny Dykes and that staff getting that program going again. Bigger test coming this week at TCU.
SMU not shying away from scheduling tough OOC games is a big part of this. Would be huge to finally get that signature win over TCU next weekend.

We are copying the TCU model. Go into conference 3-1 after playing regional opponents build up fans and recruits then go after bigger opponents.
We are just 15 years behind.
