I actually understand that one. Gonna let the clock run if they punt, but once they ran out the kicker you call the TO because if he misses you get good field position. First decision I've actually agreed with.

Montero has been less visible this year.
Maybe Mensa will agree to shortened quarters and a running clock in the 2H like his mentor did against the Nuevo Leon Leones.
Maybe Stewart is a lefty
Oh come on, Bailey, you have to catch that

Maybe we can schedule Nuevo Leones.
Bricks for hands! Can’t throw it any better than Stewart did. Hit him in the facemask for crying out loud.

Yeah, we’re just bad at it.
It’s a shame these folks have to see this.

There isnt a single positive point on this showing. Not one.

And if is the level of what to expect from Bloomgren and an offense, then I have to go on record as saying Bloom is not a very good hire for a Rice program.

Zero 'smart football' in what Bloom is showing as an offensive philosophy. I havent seen any ability from Bloom to actually use the resources he has in the best way he can think, as opposed to being myopic about what a program 'has to do'.

I dont see a Bloom offense ever really competing against a P5 program.

I cant tell you how this will translate to the dumpster fire CUSA -- his 'never mind full speed ahead with the pound the rocl' might be sufficient to compete in the CUSA. But I think it is obvious that Bloom's offensive vision for Rice will never pass the 'will work a P5 team' to win test.

I am really disappointed here. Bloom is showing exactly zero imagination here. And I think that is something that will be a requirement for any Rice football team to have in able to compete.
Curious to see if Bloomgren owns any of this in the postgame. Or if he blames it all on our personnel and/or execution.
At least the Owls get the ball to start the 3Q!
Nothing all too unsurprising. I'm throwing Jovonni Johnson into this game as one of his four alotted redshirt games. But that's just because all hope is lost and I'm grasping at any straw I can find. Or Marshman. See if we can't spice the offense up with a mobile QB.

And, finally, it seems that a system predicated on having a 4/5* QB to keep the defense honest while an offensive line consisting of entirely 4/5* recruits does the heavy lifting doesn't work as well when you...don't have access to the required recruits. No reason on giving up on everything yet (these are the necessary growing pains for a lot of these players who still look to have promise) but certainly not a fun game.

Time to march right down the field and score.

Come on Tanq. Punt coverage has been good!

Herman will leave Ehlinger in at least until he has 350. Herman will do everything he can for Ehlinger's Heisman run, both this year and in prep for next.

That means Herman wont let up on the gas for at least two more scores.
Not surprised too much, but we all agreed that we have to let Bloom have three years at least, and anyway, most of us were pointing toward 2020.

This was always going to be a loss. Now let’s see if our our fight dies in the second half. I hope not and expect not.

I was going to correct myself but the last shank out of bounds nixed that.

Edited to add: I will re-correct myself -- you are correct. The coverage aspect has been good. I should learn to read.
