Upset special:. Kentucky over Florida

UF is vulnerable
I really don't consider Kentucky over Florida much of an upset anymore.

Florida beat Miami, but looked bad doing it. Miami subsequently lost to North Carolina.

In fairness, Kentucky just lost their QB, but I don't think Florida is that good right now.
Chattanooga over TN

Didn’t Butch Jones used to get lots of 5 star recruits or had my memory faded?

His problem wasn't recruiting but right use. Alvin Kamara in a prime example. Jalen Hurd could be another once he gets healthy. Lot's of talent, but at some point they just quit on him (the season we were being Vandy away from the Sugar Bowl).
If Chattanooga wins I don't think Pruitt gets another game to be honest.

Nor should he. Tennessee would be in full blown panic mode to salvage this season at that point.

They already are. See Bryce Thompson

I hope Pruitt remains even if he goes 0-12. Because a mid season firing will just get Fulmer out of the AD’s office and on the sideline where he will dig in like a tick.

I just don't see the Fulmer to the sidelines strategy happening. It would be fascinating entertainment, but UT is better than that and has the resources to set it straight. They need to hit the reset button by letting Pruitt and Fulmer play out their contractual time and back up the dump truck to hire the best AD available and give him a dump truck to hire a coach. UT is still a top 15 program despite the dumpster fire of the last decade, and it would be a highly desirable job for someone who could start with a clean slate (no old buyouts, no pressure to keep the Fulmer/Haslam regime, blank check to hire a HBC who hires a whole new staff, etc.).

Off the top of my head, only the programs below in no particular order are a clearly better gig for an AD and HBC combination than UT:

Texas
Texas A&M
Ohio State
Alabama
Michigan
Georgia
Oklahoma
*Florida or Florida State if either program somehow disintegrated. Right now, they neutralize each other to the point that I think UT as the lone P5 in a fan crazed, committed football state is an equal to both of them in terms of resources with the right AD and coach.

Other than that, it comes down to fit and preference because I think UT can meet or exceed any other programs in terms of resources if they so choose. They may never exceed the top schools listed above, but they can certainly join them.
Tennessee is blowing out somebody?! Quick, buy a lottery ticket.

The only good thing about Fulmer’s presence is that it is a repudiation of the Haslam regime. What UTK needs is an AD from outside of the Southeast or maybe even a female one. Much like Texas it is the good ol boy connections that have prevented UTK from finally leaving the wilderness.
Looks like Florida is getting away with one.

Mark Stoops completely mismanaged the end of that game.

Is Kentucky the new Clemson of a decade ago? I hope so if our future goes down the same path. Being a Kentucky football fan is a numbing affair.
Mississippi State certainly showed they are middle of the pack. A few issues on both offense and defense revealed certain vulnerabilities. Some of that can be cleaned-up, but will they?

Kansas State did a lot of pushing and shoving from the get-go, and got away with much of it.

I am impressed with Georgia. I firmly believe they can go toe to toe with Clemson. Would enjoy seeing that match-up in the post-season.
