Say what you want about Chuck Roberts, but he was hammy and hammy works when you got it. This cat has nothing.

Kiss cam, emoji cam, drum cam, flex cam, all stupid.

Oh yay let's run the same stupid car wash race and not even end it because we cannot time untelevised game breaks correctly.

Whatever hype man out there blows.

Again, PA guy cannot read off a script let alone work a mic.

So much wasted potential here. Embarrassing.

I'm sorry your game day experience did not live up to your personal expectations. Hopefully we'll do better in the immediate future. Trust me Dr Rudd has been notified.
It's not about my personal expectations, it's embarrassing and could be much better.

And I know you're being cute, but this kind of concern is EXACTLY the kind of thing Dr. Rudd takes seriously.
It was a great experience from my TV.
The pre-game could use a bit more pageantry, and the in-game promotions come across as kind of bush league. It much more closely resembles an NFL game (or better yet AA baseball or WWE) than a college game. The band's pregame show, although more youthful and energetic, breaks from a tradition that goes back as long as I can remember. The mashup of Memphis themed songs was replaced by newer songs. Most of the in-game promotions are silly and corny. Let the band(s) play dammit.

We agree on something.

Why?

The concept should be....create events that sell tickets and put butts in seats. I am not sure that this concept has been fully grasped yet by the U of M. There should be someone fully in charge of this and if they cannot do the job....they are replaced until we get the right person or team that can perform in this area.

Oh, well then you have no idea... You don't have to suffer the kind of inane crap we do, like the "drum-solo-cam". (which was actually pretty cool if they could start it on time, and the participants knew what to do)

The problem is, all those cams and races are to promote somebody giving us money. Like the grocery shopping race was to promote Kroger. Kroger gave us a lot of money for that game. We kinda got to let them do their thing.
My only complaint:

When we get a 1st down and go into a no huddle, hurry-up offense immediately after, don't blow the truck horn. It blows during our play. Don't do things that hinder our team. That's all.

Other than that.......meh.....whatever.

But...wouldn't it be better to sell more tickets by giving people more reasons to come to a game than to get money from Kroger for something no one would buy a ticket to see? Actually, I don't think the Kroger thing would prevent someone else in charge of increasing attendance from doing their job. I think the problem is, no one is accountable for maximizing ticket sales revenues. Someone who actually knows how to do it and was hired to do that job.

They did better on that this past weekend.

It's a small bit of apples and oranges in the two.

The in game production shouldn't be anything that actually puts fans in the stands. If they came to hear the hype man or band or anything else, then our program is in trouble. Increase the experience... yeah, I can agree with that one. However, until our tv contract doubles next season we need every dime we can get. You would have to increase the LB capacity and fill it to overflowing to come close to the money Kroger is paying. The first down horn cost more money than most people think and more than an increase in single game tickets is likely to produce.

It's like advertising on the outfield walls of AA baseball parks. You don't see that in MLB to the same extent, because honestly they don't need it. However almost every college sports event has varying degrees of what we are complaining about here.

I do fully agree with you Dallas that they need somebody fully dedicated to ticket sales and increasing attendance.
they used to have that model, until Bowen decided to clean house, cut costs and make himself out to be a hero
PA guy does suck
I wish they wouldn't do any of that stupid ****. It's all just noisen noise, noise, noise.

Its like there cant be even 1 second not filled with some ******* spewing crap.

One of the main reasons I did not renew this year. I just wanna watch the game.
Oh

Chuck Roberts was not hammy, he just sucked

And is a felon to boot

We cannot have him working for our university, it is embarrassing
Some of you all still want to hear more MSOS? They’re not bad but it’s just that after going to so many games it’s all the same songs and same shtick every time. Practically boring after awhile. The in-game production does cut into the band playing more but I doubt we’re missing something revealing
I don't care about any of that.

He could work a mic. Current PA guy has GOTS to go. He will never have it.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
