Lots of prediction and pick threads and I prefer the game threads on the conference board. But I thought it would be cool to start a series of expectations threads that we could drop in not just like win or loss, but actual performance expectations team or individual.
I expect our defense will be stifling and mean. I would be surprised if San Jose gets more than two scores off them. I do like starting the season on the road vs a top team, mostly because it's great prep for the rest of the season as far as game speed and competition. The defense looked solid and ready to go after the first series. There is definitely some pride in them and I expect them to put on a show. Running QBs give us some issues (mostly on scrambles) but I expect a good game plan to shut down everything else.
This will be a coming out party for our RBs, who will be a big step up from the backs they face in Northern Colorado last week. Smith proved he can throw all the passes so that should help as well. Even with bad O-line play the explosive play potential will give us some scoring opportunities.
An easy win if we have a few big plays for tds as I expect the lights out defensive effort. But probably closer as our RBs aren't break away types and passing game requires rythm.
Shamari Brooks will make a few defenders look silly and Taylor will break a run no one saw coming as the play developed.
