Since the weather in the Tetons didn't look too favorable, decided to change 2nd leg of Utah trip 180 degrees, 250 miles to the south. Any advice for a 1.5+ day trip there, Moab area?

I was in Moab 2 months ago, its awesome. Nothing fancy, beer gardens, microbrew pub, lots of hiking/biking/rafting/jeep tours.

Good time to hit Yellowstone and Tetons, I’m up there almost weekly and the weather has been awesome, fishing is really picked up as well. Moab is excellent, it will be hot,

90ish. Cooler than I have been in Vegas when I was there in July once for a wedding. All time high, 115.

Rent a Razor and hit the slick rock trails. It's a blast. You can get up to a 6 seater.

I think that would be a little much for me at my age lol.

What's funny, I did get an mid-size SUV just for myself. Then I saw they had some off road trails at one of the parks. I looked at the easy-moderate. I almost crapped my pants watching. One lane in the dirt around bends trucks trying to get by and almost swiping. Reminded me of some of those youtube videos in South America.

That driveway up to sunset grill is crazy

Moab is really, really cool.. probably no need to go off the beaten path.. just doing the super touristy / easy to get things will still be very impressive.

Good call on the microbrewery . Great beer Pilsner and stout,burger. Had a nice root root beer gelato.

Parks were awesome.

I hit Canyonlands, Arches and Dead Horse. All were great. Some hikes were rough, but only missed Upheaval as that was a combo of difficulty n time, as it was 3 pm and I needed to get to SLC. Did the basic delicate arch, and that was hard enough lol.Awesome stuff.

Sounds amazing- seeing the parks and monuments in Utah is a big travel goal

My spousal unit and I are spending this week at Zion and Bryce Canyon National parks. Awsome scenery but the parks are crowded. We spent a day doing desert hikes at Snow Canyon State Park which was equally beautiful and much less crowded. What a beautiful state!

If you all want a true bucket list item, Lake Powell. Google images and it’s hard to express how cool this place is. I was raised going there as a kid, and my children as well. Many a Huskie hat found the bottom but the Huskie flag always flew!

No, time issues.

1st day I was in Canyonlands/Green River for sunset. Was going to star gaze but were high clouds passing so while a lot of stars, was no more than Central Il. Left at about 930 to check in hotel after I had a sandwich i brought. That was one spooky drive out. Pitch black, couldn't see a thing 10 feet off road. I saw 3 cars from park all the way to main road. to Moab.

2nd day I got back right after sunset in Arches, straight to brewery.

I stayed right across from the Sunset. I didn't even know that it was up there til next morning.

I doubt I ever get that way again. I wanted to hit Grand Canyon for a couple hrs during spring training in Mesa this past year. Glad I didn't make the 8hr+ round trip to temps in 30's. This was much better from sites and time constraints.

Really is. So much different terrain. Even the trip through the hills back and forth from SLC is cool. Reminded my of going through mountains around Chattanooga as a kid. i Hit them as sun was going down. Looked awesome.

I'm doing a Zion / Bryce trip this november with the family. Any tips? Tell me more about snow canyon state park!
