We do it because there will be a time when we aren't favored to win the MAC and struggle with an FCS opponent. CMU and NIU didn't breeze through last week. Kent is a 1.5 point favorite to Kennesaw this week. It's something you do at the FBS G5 level. It's a paid win. Just be thankful it's a win.

Not if Rocket fans are vigilant and don't allow mediocrity to seep into the program. You're suppose to earn wins not buy them.

The bye week will have a smaller point differential. It's not the FCS, it's the non-competitive FCS. There's not even a local NW Ohio flavour on their roster, to attract attention.

If you were charged with selling this game and this game only, how would you sell it? Come check out the new menu?

Games like this are a waste, background noise. Both teams, schools and fans deserve a competition. And if they're competitive with us, we have a coaching problem.

Power 5 teams are saying the same things, why are there schools playing MAC teams, waste of time

Murray St is giving Georgia as good or better a game than either CMU gave Wisconsin or BG gave KState. So...

Absolutely not. UK was up 17-0 in the 2nd Quarter.
The Wildcats started doing things like fumbling at the EMU one yd line and missing FG's. They continued to keep their scoring down by commiting stupid penalties. On top of it, an EMU DB horse-collared UK's QB Terry Wilson in the 3rd quarter resulting in a serious knee injury(he was carted off the field).The back up QB, a grad transfer from Troy, came in and passed for 2 TD's.

I’d prefer a Fresno, Boise, or BYU but scheduling is tricky. Teams have to have openings and want to come here. Also, we have to have 5 home games and, present company accepted, most season ticket holders want 6 home games. We looked pretty good against KU but we have things we need to work on and this game gives us an opportunity to implement some things. If I could change anything about our schedule we,d never have a bye before October 20th. Ever.

Murray State RFr QB Preston Rice was 20-25 216 yds 1 TDs 0 Ints in his second college start. Rice was runner-up for Mr Football in Tennessee 1-a football.
Murray State was tied with Georgia 7-7 after the first quarter and outscored them 10-7 in the third period.
The Racers scored on a 60 TD pass, 35 yd interception, and a 20+ yd FG after a sustained drive.
