While there are still two games to be played in Week 1, we are ready to go with the slate of games for Week 2. There are 2 Friday night games, so be sure to get your picks in on time. Also, note that the Ohio-Pitt game starts at 11AM, so get all your Saturday picks in before that one kicks off. Here is the slate:

Fri 9:00.....Marshall @ Boise State

Last week, we were all picking a little blind. This week we know a little more about these teams. After this week, we'll know a lot more. As the season goes on there will be fewer "gimmes" on the card, and the picker cream will start to rise to the top.

A reminder about the rules. This year, a player may sit out one week during Weeks 1-12 and still be eligible for the season crown. So if you missed the first week, there's still time to get in on the action. The champion will be determined by highest winning percentage, not by total wins.

As always, good luck to all.

I pick Wake Forest because they're ACC.
I know nothing about Marshall.
Hopefully Pitt doesn't start out 0-2. I'm sure they'll win.
Syracuse, look out for Josh Jackson at QB.
I know nothing about West Virginia or their new coach but Missouri is bad.
Virginia Tech better not lose to ODU 2 years in a row.
Vanderbilt @ Purdue. Why is this one on the slate? Who know any thing about either one of these teams.
Cincinnati is my pick for the access bowl. Looking good so far.
I don't think South Florida is as bad as they looked against Wisconsin.
Clemson to lose no more than 1 this season and this ain't it.
Florida State is down but not so down they'll lose to UL-Monroe
If Tennessee loses this.... Wow can you bring in a new coach after year 1.
LSU @ Texas. Really looking forward to this game.
Arkansas @ Ole Miss. Probably should take Ole Miss in this one. Not much chance they start out 0-2.
Miami @ North Carolina. How good is UNC really? Can Big Mack have them turned around in year 1? Probably not.

AGREED. This is no guaranteed win for Syracuse by any means.

UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR. If the Hokies lose this one, Fuente might be fired before the week is over

Quote:I don't think South Florida is as bad as they looked against Wisconsin.
OF COURSE NOT, but neither is Georgia Tech as bad as they looked against Clemson.

Quote:Florida State is down but not so down they'll lose to UL-Monroe
The Seminoles will improve. IT WAS JUST WEEK ONE. I know FSU fans are freaking out, but I remember when Virginia Tech blew a season opener to Boise State. Winning these kind of games is exactly what the Broncos do.

This one could be interesting. I think the line started out at Cuse -5 but I've already seen it at -3 and -2.5 some places. Maryland certainly has a chance to win but I think this is a huge over reaction to what both teams did week 1. With it taking a bit of time for Syracuse to pull away from Liberty and Maryland dropping 79 on Howard...makes it appear much closer than it probably is. We have a pick'em on the B1G board and I'm trying to decide if I'm taking Maryland or not. Anyway, wish the Cuse fans good luck, hope its a really fun and injury free game.

Im just hoping that Mike Loksley hasnt learned much in the way of coaching since his days as a head coach at New Mexico where he was 3-31. Im surprised that Maryland hired him as the HC. No offense, but I hope he is still a bad coach. Cuse offense needs some time to gel before playing Maryland. So I hope bad coaching is the equalizer. On the other hand, I knew Tommy DeVito wasnt ready to lead this team. If Dungey was back,SU wins this game going away. Not certain of anything until DeVito shows he's ready. Right now, he has thrown more interceptions in his career than TD's.
Maryland - I do pity their fans. Their leadership picked Randy Edsall over Mike Leach. If Mike Leach was coaching them the last 8 years or whatever it has been, they would likely still be in the ACC and possibly would have been consistently winning 10+ games every year.

To be fair, Maryland's 3rd string would likely have started on those New Mexico State teams.

Possibly, but lets not forget that many of the teams on his schedule were similarly talented. He averaged one win per year and often lost to those similarly talented teams teams by 2 and 3 TD's. Whether his team manages to win or lose against SU, Im going to be interested in how he does for the season as the head guy at Maryland.
