Losers mentality. If we’re fortunate enough to make a playoff run, particularly a deep one, we will play better teams than WVU. These games and now our players and coaches perform matter.

If that's the case, then the cupcake games matter too. You can't mold the argument to your liking. It's valuable experience and confidence building, execution, etc.

IMO, aside from NDSU, there is no other team in FCS remotely close to this WVU team's talent and size.... so yes, there's maybe one other team we could face all season as tough as the one we just played.

Well either wait until we go FBS or see ya in a month. I'd love to play more meaningful games but this is what we have to work with now.

Francis has a playing surface called Degol "Field" with a 3,400 bleacher capacity.

Not a slight against francis, that is the NEC.

We need peers.

Give me a schedule with good football teams (FBS and elite FCS) on the schedule and I will be interested. Pounding STFU into the astroturf does not interest me in the slightest. Maybe we should schedule Harrisonburg High School.

We don't play teams that are better than WVU ever besides the week one fcs body bag game.

There are two or three fcs teams at their best that don't get blown out by WVU when WVU is down.

Funny how feathers get ruffled when FBS teams disrespect us but we're fine trashing 99% of the FCS. I agree we outgrew FCS years ago and this game is most likely a laugher, but our team and staff better not overlook any FCS team ever again. Ever.

This is correct. I'm firmly in the "stay in FCS until I like the alternative better" camp, which probably means forever, BUT it is intensely disappointing to lose the only game that *should* be close until December. We'll have close ones until then, and of course, we need to take every opponent very seriously. But playing like yesterday and losing means *I* won't feel good about a win unless we beat VU/UR/UDel/Elon by 30, or any playoff team except Colgate by 10. Colgate by 50.

As others have said, this feels like the NDSU game at Frisco 2 years ago. The better team failed on the big plays and lost. I don't mind losing, it's whiffing at opportunity that hurts so badly.

Why overlook anyone? Doesn't matter the opponent, championship teams prepare for every team. 1 loss or even a close game hurts our chances for home field in the playoffs. Blowout the teams your supposed to blow out

When did I say "overlook" St. Francis? Please show me that. Here, let me help you. NEVER! That's when I said "overlook" St. Francis.

I don't think we should overlook any team. STFU just beat Lehigh and look like a pretty good defensive team, shutting down Lehigh on the ground (11 total yards rushing). But, honestly, Lehigh looks really, really bad this year. As bad as they were on the ground, their quarterback threw 51 passes, completing only 21.

My point was and is I see nothing good in us playing teams like St. Francis. We have lots of OOC options. We can play Liberty or ODU or App State or any number of good teams. We can schedule MAC teams, most of which we would clobber and get paid for doing it. Yet, we are playing St. Friggin Francis. And, if that isn't enough of a snorer, the following week we are taking on powerhouse (4-7 in 2018) Morgan State. I don't believe it does us any good to play teams like that. It does us a ton of good in every way to play teams like West Virginia or the others I mentioned above or about a zillion other good teams. But, instead, we are playing University of Sisters of the Poor.

Maybe you see St. Francis as a peer of JMU. I don't! The pic below is their awesome stadium which looks like it might hold all of their 1,700 students.
