Oct. 19 - Men’s Soccer - UNCW at James Madison 7P

Oct. 24 - Women’s Soccer - James Madison at UNCW 7P

Nov. 7 - Volleyball - Northeastern at UNCW 7P

Nov. 10 - Volleyball - Towson at UNCW 1P

In additon, all CAA championship tournaments (Volleyball, M & W Soccer, etc) will be behind the paywall
I assume we don’t know which basketball games are behind a paywall yet. Right now I’m having a hard time seeing myself pay for any of this if it’s only a couple of UNCW men’s basketball games. I guess I’ll just radio/twitter it for those. Not picking up a new service for a couple of games.

Ask me come game time and maybe I’ll change my tune.

Same. I’d rather listen on the radio to Mike V then pay for some craptastic overly priced television broadcast. Wake me up when this nightmare is over.

For basketball, Flo has the right to 90 CAA games and CBS Sports Network will have 8. Everything else will be on CAA.TV.

I would imagine the UNC game will either be on CBS Sports Network or Flo.

All our Flo games can also be placed on local TV like WILM. JMU and NE are taking advantage of this provision, we would be wise to.do the same

I tell you what. I really think this Flo deal is going to hurt all schools in terms of athletic funding. It may not hurt their deep pocket donors, but a lot of the middle class alumni and fans are going to start fading if every outlet to watch Seahawk sports costs more and more money.
Flo surprised me by giving the $12.50 price point at a per month rate. Ill give them credit for that.

Doing the math, FLO has the rights to 90 MBB games. There are 90 CAA games total. But 8 of those seem like they are going to be on CBS Sports Network. Its logical to assume that since the conference is ponying up the money, the league will showcase itself during the grit of conference play.

So if CBSSN gets 8 conference games, then Flo would get to pick at least 8 non conference games. I would think Flo would rather spread out there games in November and December and get some bigger non CAA subscribers to possibly bite. So they might take more than 8.

Here are attractice non conference home games for FLO
(Elon, Drexel, and W&M havent released schedule yet)
UNC v UNCW
Charlotte v UNCW
Ga St. V Charleston
OK St v Charleston
VCU v Charleston
Charlotte v JMU
ECU v JMU
George Washington v Towson
San Jose St v Hofstra
Harvard v Northeastern
ODU v Northeastern
Davidson v Northeastern

My fear is that they are going to get pretty much everything but a handful of games, especially since we are a non football school and football games cant be used to entice subscriptions. Them getting the UNC game would be a real tough pill to swallow. So if you want to watch UNCW basketball this season, be prepared to shell out a minimum of $50 for 4 months of Flo

Not happening. Solely based on principle. The CAA can kiss my arse on that one.

Add in a Roku or Apple TV to that price. I’m a fire user. I just looked over their package in sports. Appears to be a bunch of content that should be free stream just aggregated together. Cheer competitions, weight lifting, Utah bike rides, etc? What’s their target collegiate audience? Athletes’ parents and families? I’ll likely wait and see what the folks on here say about quality and assess the overall quality of our play before subscribing. I honestly think they cut viewership of uncw sports by at least half. Let’s be honest with ourselves, our ratings on the free stream had to be putrid to begin with.
No way the Unc game goes onto FLO Sports.

Why do you say that? Flo will want that game. Lots of UNC fans will pay

Because I'm sure UNC TV rights trumps anything that we could have.

Its our home game so it falls under our TV package.

Another reason for me bring pro ESPN for CAA is that not having an ESPN tie in could make getting big name schools to come here even more difficult as there is no guarantee the game will be easily accessible for their fans

UNC @ Elon was on ESPNU last season. I don't know how much Flo being involved will impact the TV rights, but I'd much rather see the game on an ESPN platform.

Something could be worked out for ESPN. However last year we didn't have Flo paying 7 figures for 90 games
ESPN loves UNC. I would think it would be on ESPNU or the ACC Network. With the game being on a Friday not sure if it would make it to ESPN or ESPN2 since they always have a college football game on Friday nights.
