I’m curious to see if all the states that have multiple G5 sports teams who do y’all think is the overall worse in each state?
I would say

Texas:
UTEP

Louisiana:
ULM

Alabama:
Troy/South/UAB (probably the most difficult to pick in my opinion not sure)

Georgia:
Georgia State

Florida:
FIU

Carolina:
UNCC

Ohio:
Kent State

Michigan:
Eastern Michigan
Some states only had two choices. Others had plenty to pick from. I didn't limit it to Sun Belt, CUSA, or MAC.

Alabama: UAB
California: San Jose
Colorado: Colorado State
Florida: FAU
Georgia: Georgia State
Louisiana: Tulane
Michigan: Central or Eastern Michigan
Nevada: UNLV
New Mexico: NM State
New York: Buffalo
North/South Carolina: Charlotte
Ohio: Miami or Kent State
Tennessee: MTSU
Texas: UTEP or UTSA
Virginia: Liberty

Different conferences / SOS - probably based on common opponents which would have been Coastal.

Not a lot of difference between coosa and the belt

Massey and S+P tend to disagree.

That’s 1 sports this is overall sports men, women, softball, baseball, basketball, football, etc.
It sucks, but UTEP has an uphill battle due to their location. El Paso is nice but it's very isolated from the rest of the state which makes it hard to recruit, and just not athletically. They admit >99% of applicants. Junior colleges in our part of the start are more selective.

In Alabama there are no other sports

This is definitely smack board material. Louisianans should be the last people to throw stones.

I'm not wading in on the argument. But maybe the gentlemen thought we were talking about who has the worst team this year? I'm under the impression that UAB lost a lot of talent since last year, no?

I also assumed we were talking about Football and not the overall athletic departments. It's so hard to compare football schools with basketball focused schools etc.
Aren't we close enough to football season for it to be politically correct enough to just talk about Football teams without having to consider tennis and women's tight rope?

No. If you're talking strictly last season, it's gotta be Rice in there with UTEP. They finished 2-11 while UTSA finished 3-9 (as did Texas State btw). We also beat Rice 20-3. But if you're talking about a pattern of most recent years, it's gotta either be Texas State or Rice in there with UTEP...

Texas State last 4 years... (10-38 aggregate, same as UTEP's last 4 years)
3-9
2-10
2-10
3-9

Rice last 4 years... (11-38 aggregate)
2-11
1-11
3-9
5-7

UTSA last 4 years... (18-30 aggregate)
3-9
6-5
6-7
3-9

And we're 2-0 vs. Texas State overall so far.

We were horrible last year, but regardless of how you look at it, we don't belong in there next to UTEP.
