May be a good hire but I hope Rudd allows Penny a great deal of autonomy to run the basketball side; especially scheduling. This guy is a football player. No doubt which way he leans.

I have reached my limit of three free articles.
Looks like a good media and fundraising background.

Quote:Q: President Rudd has been criticized in some quarters for being too involved in athletics. Are you comfortable with his role?

A: Absolutely. What I have found over the years, and really more and more in intercollegiate athletics, is the importance of having a strong president who is engaged and who understands not only the importance of, but also the intricacies of, the athletic department. It’s clear that he values it. I really look forward to coming alongside him and following his leadership. I welcome that.
Florida is a school that gets it done in both sports, so Wiseman won't have to worry.

Florida, Mizzou, Tex Tech, Oklahoma, K-State...Those all sound like good H/H football AND basketball opponents.

Talks about the projects he was involved in at UF
Sounds like a great hire
Looking forward to upgrading OOC FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
Games with Florida and Kansas state would be great
welcome

sounds great
Our administration appears to have made another great hire. This is becoming a trend, and one that I hope can continue. What appears apparent is that the University has become very good at stealth recruitment. Penny was a no-brainer choice in basketball, but the choices of Fuente and Norvell as football coaches were made with no previous speculation or hype. Now, the AD hire has followed that same pattern. I like the low-key search with a home-run hire at the end.

Welcome, Laird and family. I'm looking forward to meeting you. It is interesting that at Missouri you had a Tiger Scholarship Fund. You will fit right in here.
looking at the tweet machine, the national media types think this is a great hire.
take that 2 for 1 deal with Florida UCF turned down
Appears to be a great hire. Welcome Mr Veatch.
